Eurocentrists have tried their best to delete this fact from history. The "Dark" ages in Europe, was a time when Europe was ruled by Black people (moors). The Dark Ages happened after the fall of Rome and Europe was in chaos. The Moors from North Africa had ancient knowledge and began to civilize Europeans. You can see these nikkas on coat of arms from West Europe to East Europe.
There were two types of Moors, the Phoenix Moor and the Dragon Moor. In short the Phoenix Moor was in Europe to civilize, teach. The Dragon moor however, used to demand payment for the Sultan and if they didn't pay, they'd burn/plunder your whole town down. Also they requested virgin women to appease them. This has been turned into mythology now.
Now Europeans created a secret society called the Order of the Dragon dedicated to halting the advance of "Dragons" into Europe.
It shows a dragon choking itself with its own tail. This Order of the Dragon was made to fight the enemies of "Christianity".
Vlad the Impaler was a member of the order of the dragon, Dracula is based of this guy.
Long story short, the Moors lost.
1492 was the year the Moors were finally defeated in Spain. Now the remaining Moors in Europe were now called Blackamoors, "Black" meaning second class citizens. Now instead of nobility and royalty they were to be made fun of.

So I've seen this. Do you know where the rumor of them being "moors" come from besides the hats? I've heard moor is a loose term for black mercenaries up for hire (idk if I'm describing that right). Have you heard that too?

Ok makes sense. I just read part of this group fought against African & Arab slavers. Which I didn't know. That also makes them more complex sans the moor rumor... well not really cause they were in it for the money anyway
