Any of you watched this episode of History Channel's Barbarians Rising. It's on the great African General Hannibal. Aired last night.
Africa, but there's a lot of debate of whether he was black or not. I dont care how he was depicted. white, black, purple, who gives a shyt. I love that story. Carthage was founded by the Phoenicians, who originated from the Levant. The Sahara made it pretty unlikely that sub saharan africans made their way to Northern Africa to intermingle with the Mediterranean cultures. Around that time Phoenicians colonized Tunisia, the Berbers were very prevalent in that area too.
Hannibal probably wasnt black, but he def wasnt white. Probably looked more middle eastern/arabic than anything.
