History Channel Portrays Hannibal as Black, White People Cry Foul Over 'Historical Revisionism' - Atlanta Black Star

History Channel‘s newest documentary series, Barbarians Rising, tackles the fall of Rome over the course of 700 years of invasions. However, the most recent episode that aired Monday depicts Hannibal of Carthage as a Black man, and many white history buffs are crying foul over the “historical inaccuracy.”

In the series, Hannibal is portrayed by Black British actor Nicholas Pinnock. The famous Carthaginian was a thorn in the empire’s side. He became a general at the age of 26 and managed to unite barbarian tribes to stop Rome’s imperial rise. The military genius was famous for climbing the Alps with war elephants whose sole purpose was to stomp the Roman army.

Hannibal ultimately wanted to invade Rome, but he failed to do so.

There have been debates over the race of Hannibal. This debate still continues till this day.

Only between white supremacists. The dude was a black African through and through. This is well known.

The only reason his race is "controversial" is because he is universally recognized in military circles as one of the greatest generals of all time. His battle tactics are legendary and are taught in military schools the world over. We all know white people's hesitancy to acknowledge #blackexcellence. Anyone still confused needs to read more.

One of the reasons he was so effective early on is because many of the soldiers he encountered were not actual Roman military but farmers that took up arms against invaders. But because they were not from the larger cities these farmers had never seen a black person, ever. And because of where they lived they had likewise never even seen a picture elephant let alone the real thing (as the elephants were brought by Hannibal from Africa).

So, imagine you are a farmer with no training who now has to defend a patch of land... then an alien lifeform shows up on the horrizon speaking a language u don't understand ready for war... but not only that, the alien is riding another even more massive alien lifeform (the elephant) unlike anything you have ever seen in life.

Those cacs were shytting their pants. :dead:

Thet had to stop using spears cause they would get stuck in the elephants leg, break, and piss the elephants off.:mjlol:

I listened to like a 6 hour podcast on it one day.

Elephants aren't horses. When a person stabs them they understand exactly what happened and who did it.
And they rememeber from battle to battle what the dudes in those uniforms look like.
