Living in America as a Black or Hispanic person, I could imagine needing an escape from reality more than most.
Nah, I don't see it this way. I see it as fewer options being available for escape, rather than black/hispanic having a heightened desire to escape.

None of our parents are trying to put us into piano classes or classical violin or tennis or golf or taking a scuba diving or dance class, etc because of the cost constraint.
