I know you can't compare which was my initial point. The fact that you have to ask whether we will continue to operate under America or work towards something more independent is why the "unity" is not cut and dry.
Most of us don't plan to leave nor do we have anywhere to go, that can't be said the same for people who immigrated here. How we continue in the future as our own ethnic group is based on how we proceed with something like reparations. But what we do know is we are own people(like the chinese) and working towards something.
Your guys' movement was good, but it still comes back to the reality of our situation. We have to fix our own separate problems and issues in order to be able to come together. The chinese are one culture, one people, one nation.
There's not going to be a one singular code because that's not the reality of our situation. We need to be real about it, but like you said when it comes to name calling about reparations, people like to play these games where they divide themselves and then get upset when people work towards themselves and then they'll scream for pan-anfricanism. I agree, there shouldn't be name calling, which is why we dont understand why we are getting so much pushback and negativity. But we cant do this thing where we act like everyone else is together, because the asians are certainly not. The chinese came together as a specific ethnic group. They are extremely xenophobic, so idk if that's the best example for this conversation.
But back to the original topic. the chinese =/ bringing the diaspora together. Asians are not together. We need to focus on our own and then come together. And be respectful/not give unwarranted pushback to others' fights.
