. Hip hop fell off cuz the Internet. Everyone sound the same. No regional sounds anymore

No

Quality was already trash in 95

Then over the top low quality in 1996.

In 1996. Busta dropped as a hold over from 1995. It took till like may or April of 1996. Before the next quality recording.
dropped in commons resurrection remix.
An album releeaed in 1994

The internet is wrongly blamed. All because the sales spike era was fraud. Then was exposed.
I started writing reviews. To help nikkaz save money on Tuesday in 1997. Working at the isp. That I created the profitability of all the products that enriched society in connectivity to the internet.

So what would you do if Project Pat or Pastor Troy tape popped??

Were tape very expensive

Only way your tape popped. Was it was warped like common sense resurrection on like the second printing. That swapped out rhe sense. As relativity was ignorant in every possible way as a label.

Or if you had a trash radio.
that was not pioneer, Aiwa, or Sony sports level. Where you should have easily got your weight up.
To cop that better in that era.

Not to mention. A sawbuck, softbuck or ten dollar was easy as hell to come by. The nineties. Were not the super recession years that dub ya made it into. When they stole the election from al gore. Leading into the turn of the century. Then enabled 9-11.

we were in the black. Before dubya bush raided the American coffers. That poppa bush running the show over reagan.
Bankrupted america into the red.
That later dubya his son raided the coffers.

Clinton restored us into the net positive black.

Pastor Troy was not good enough to buy on tape. That is strictly a artist who benefitted from cd's. Project pat made two classics and would sell on tape.

Only way I had pastor Troy was because it was given to me. By my neighbor who was Janet Jackson in control, rhythm nation and Gangstarr a&r.

This motherfųcka said 1997

If I recall, these albums came out that year:
@Michael's Black Son

I reviewed these in real time back then too.

Life After Death = mid had to BUy the triple vinyl to know How mid it is and still is.

Fight me.
PLUS BE A REAL BIG FAN WHO KEPT IT REAL ABOUT THE ENTIRe ORDEAL..

Uptown Saturday Night = androgynous pagan gateway album [cringed out joe Claire on rap city
The Untouchable ; up for debate did he write it.
Take A Look Over Your Shoulder : NOT EVEN WORTHY REMEMBERING. WHO WAS THIS

I Got Next : sellout album with no new records. PREVIOUSLY found on hogj sxhool high soundtrack

Record of rhe year tied with universal magnetic

Wu Tang Forever : only cash still rules was in this and a send off

The War Report : one half gw by tragedy

Supa Dupa Fly : rnb that was not shyt to the sists twelve inch

No Way Out = sellout album that ruined rap

Art of War = trash double album for hone stans

Ghetto D : huff pac biter bullshyt. Juice embarraased rhe whole label.

Based on a True Story

Back in Business : epmd sellout album

One Day It Will All Make Sense : bit juice and cried on the phone being recorded to not release the diss record

Phenomenon : only got one record

In My Lifetime : sellout record..vinyl was bettee

The 18th Letter : only worth the album cut

Unpredictable ?!?!!

R U Still Down? : was never a pac stan. After b side flex.

What was fye on here except for the actual album title record, 18th letter.

Not the album. The opening album cut.

Or step Into the world. Which krs gave puff license and ruined all of hiphop.

where krs hid his hands.

Resulting in almost making krs into a dead draw on the followup sneak attack. From failing to adjust in skill to the jiggy sonic landscape. Krs enabled puff to ruin all of hophop moving forward with. Just like later enabling bambaata.

Only good dope records was the vinyl singles to freestyle or written and mos sef universal magnetic culturally. Along with jayz remix to a million and one questions.

Only album that was a classic was adrenaline rush. Which nikkaz did not appreciate and lamed out on. All because twists dissed chi rock and went pop and souled't out.

Plus later ...we found twists was not even writing all his own rhymes.

Only unsigned record worth a damn was :

The only classic that year was:

Slim shady ep

Where I was rhe reviewer who said.

eminem was going to be the largest drawing artist in rap history. Where everyone was naysaying was proven wrong.

In 97...I started as a review gawd on Davey d.

Auran Dayspring

Man how tha fukk did you overcode this post.

All these reviews I remember form my memory too.

Garbage ass clipse dropped as cutout too. So when they dropped they were already Philly most wanted wack to me. From their a&r cutout. That they probably got shelved cause I said they were triddash too.

1997 was dismal as fukk.

If not for juice, eminem and mos def.
97 was arguably the worst year in rap ever for the time.
Only album I Wanna say was royal flush was a classic.
Which I owned the trifecta for.
on tape, cd and vinyl.
It was and still is that good.

98 was trash too. If not for hiphopsite.com and real audio.

Quality peaked in 95-96.

The aftermath of the East vs West and the getting jiggy wit it post Biggie bad boy era is when things changed. And more peoole buying CD’s changed the game like I said.

Artists like Gang Starr and the Roots, started going gold. Artists started making commercial records. That’s how Jay Z blue up. Reasonable Doubt dropped and nobody bought it. He didn’t have a commercial hit. After hard knock life dropped it changed his trajectory.

You had a few outliers, but for the most part artists focused on 2 or 3 radio hits to create a buzz and by the time the album dropped, the rest of the album was meh.

The Beatnuts are another prime example. The Beatnets: Next Level dropped in 1994. Their next album dropped in 1997 (Stone Crazy) and the next dropped in 1999 (Musical Massacre). The differences are stark.
