“Many key rappers and hip-hop artists come from deprived urban areas which are often hotbeds for problems such as drug abuse, domestic violence and poverty, which are in turn linked to increased occurrences of psychiatric illnesses,” she added. “These problems are rooted in their language and in their songs.”

I was disgusted by this part of it:scust:...she basically saying fukked up individuals listen to hiphop, and its a good way to get fukked up people to express themselves so they can be saved by shrinks who think they know it all...fukk this article mane:pacspit:

Was in papers, different papers which differed in wordings. At least 1 of the articles was online as I saw it, if you copy the quotes from there it should come up if it's still around. If not let me know and I will see if I have it, should do if it's still there as I favourited it.

I like the concept . . how would you like to go in on me to see to it that an organization is built around this method of treatment

The primary actions in hip hop--writing, vocalizing, performing, listening. All of those can effect a person in a positive way. If you write your feeling into lyrics vocalize perform em etc. I'd imagine its very therapuetic.

We could build an organization offering a hip-hop lyricist program to teens suffering from mental illness - it would be like AA

I see, no doubt, that's something would really like to do and would be down for. Not necessarily just teens either but everybody, I've done a lot of work in this area already, I''ve seen Hip Hop do things that are so amazing it's like miracles.

Let's get started on a plan, we can use AA as a basis for the program and once we have the plan ready we can contact the management of the buildings that facilitate AA meetings and go from there
