You having family here in the US doesn't mean sh!t. You are studying US Hip Hop culture from thouands of miles away and telling American people what Americans actually thought of American albums on American streets. Like I said, whether it's warranted or not, IWW is generally looked at waaaaaaaaay before Doe or Die or 4, 5, 6 in ushering in the mafioso heavy era of mid 90's East Coast rap.

And I usually don't quote you, or even really participate in your threads, but you saying some silly sh!t in here and I had to chime in. You letting the Nas hater in you shine.

Good thing I'm able to converse with American people to gather their opinions, no? Lol you act as if America is its own planet and we're all so far removed.

People from all over the world comment on everything. That's life. You got Americans talking about Premier League football. You got British analysts talking NFL.

Ok anyway I'm gonna repeat my original statement and not get distracted by sideways arguments. The title of the video is hip hop blasphemy. The claim is that IWW > Illmatic. I think it's "blasphemous". IWW is acknowledged to have weaknesses even if as you say it's only 'one track'. Illmatic has none.

Ilmatic>>>>>>>>>>>>"AAAAAARGHHHH WHAT UP NAS"

Nah but seriously I love both but Illmatic just holds a special place in my mind but I vividly remember when IWW dropped and people were not feeling it. I personally loved it and just thought it wasn't as good as Illmatic. Still amazing but Cuban Link and IWW were the premier albums during that time and the definition of mafioso flagship albums.

:deadmanny:

Voice was super weird I thought it was Busta or something.

You talking to people that actually have real life knowledge and experience about American Hip Hop. You are not some type of authority to state sh!t like you are definitively stating sh!t about Hip Hop culture in America. You like one of them n!ggas that been around a dude or two that been in the penitentiary and now all of a sudden you think you know what the fukk really be going on in the pen. You're an outsider telling insiders about what they actually experienced or know.

And how can it be considered "blasphemous" to like an album full of excellent/classic tracks more than another one just because it has one track that isn't up to par? Do you know what blasphemous means? You act like nikkas is trying to say I Am is better than Illmatic.

If only you bothered to read anything I say carefully you wouldn't be regurgitating the same stuff.

I said to you based on the TITLE of the video including the word 'blasphemy' it would be considered blasphemous to put IWW over Illmatic. I said somewhere else in this thread that in reality it is not a blasphemous thought, but only according to the words used in the video i.e. hip-hop blasphemy: IWW > Illmatic. Is it blasphemous or not? There's no in between. That's how I interpreted and answered it. And my answer is yes....because I think Illmatic is better. Of course it isn't REALLY blasphemous. And I said this shyt two, three times....but you don't hear me doe.

As for the bold, well I guess that's kinda like how Nas was pretending he was in the midst of the street action whilst scribbling shyt in his notepad with a window view, right? (that's a joke btw before you get riled up for no reason...)

I did not claim to be an authority I am offering up an opinion like everyone else in this thread. You've only taken issue with me when it comes to Nas. When I big up Wu-Tang, you either remain silent or you support my viewpoint. We all have preferences. Just accept the fact I don't like Nas as much as you and move on.

Blasphemous means outright profane. I love Illmatic but IWW is my favorite Nas album. I know plenty of people that love both but prefer IWW. It's silly to sh!t on someone that prefers IWW over Illmatic. Two very really, really excellent albums.

And Cube is as guilty as almost any Hip Hop legend of scribbling in his notepad and creating his life.

I am dumbfounded at how you still don't get my point. Wtf man seriously...ill just leave it there I can't explain this shyt anymore.

As for Cube. Remember Once Upon a Time in the Projects? "I don't bang I rock the good rhymes"...dude was honest.

I prefer It Was Written than illmatic. The only tracks that I enjoyed from Illmatic was 'Ain't hard to tell','The world is yours' and 'Life is a B'

This is blasphemy

IWW has some faults:
- it tried to follow a precedent from OB4CL and was never able to live up to it
- one or two tracks could disappear from the tracklist no harm done e.g. Watch Dem nikkas & Nas is Coming

Illmatic is a near flawless piece of work.

But lyrically IWW was a vast improvement you can't deny that.

Illmatic >>> IWW any day.

:mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:

da hell is wrong with ALL this revisionist history shyt

its on record that IWW was heavily influence by the formula of R2D

Creativity how? Songwriting? Nope. Delivery? Nope. Storytelling? A wash. Two different styles. Flow probably.

Pac was a better manipulator of lyrics to get his message across. Nas was more technical but the gap there isn't as large as you might think.

I think Illmatic is better but not CONSIDERABLY better. And I don't have a problem with people thinking IWW was better. And this is my point. Biggie or none of Nas' peers got the same criticism Nas did for doing the SAME exact shyt. They all had RnB features. All had hit singles. All had mafioso shyt. Yet people pick apart Nas for no reason. And Nas got snubbed. How u give Nas 5 mics and Biggie didnt. Yet Biggie gets album of the year and worst of all. LYRICIST of the year. Biggie himself didn't think he would get that over Nas.

That's fair about not being immersed in it but I have family who were and still are living in America who were privy to what was happening back then. IWW getting credit? For what? Doe or Die, Cuban Linx and 4,5,6 came out a year earlier.

No I said I'd rather be a sand monkey than gorilla. Let's keep it real that was the statement I made when IronChin called me a sand monkey. Nothing more nothing less. Of course my implicit statement was ill advised as is and I regret saying it and I've moved on and so has everyone else. If you haven't and you don't like me, don't quote me bro. It'll make your life much easier to not deal with someone you don't like.

I remember when you were trying to play both sides of the fence when Hocean was and still is constantly begging for my attention. I was trying to tell you that dude was a weirdo stalker with zero original hip hop thoughts. Now you see Billy Hocean as the moron he is.

Breh, don't waste your time with that fraud. You know way more about hip hop from Europe than he does from NYC (if I'm to believe his duck). And that's the pathetic part.
