3 RnB hooks on the whole album. I guess U don't fukk wit Biggie or a bunch of other rappers at the time either huh?possibly, though it was his subject matter pre IWW that really made ppl be like
No matter how good the MCing is, when you rapping about "champagne from Sicily" with rnb hooks who really gaf.
I guess Raekwon ill with his abundance of geography bars and pyrex vision tall talespossibly, though it was his subject matter pre IWW that really made ppl be like

Champagne from Sicily is all Nas rapped about I guess the lyrical themes flew over your head.
Rae and Nas were held in different regards. To start with ILL was 5 mics and very introspective n lyrical, meanwhile 36 chambers was a bold, brash sound and Rae was not held as the main MC of the clan (except CREAM). Rae came with new flow, concept, slanguage, production sounds and nikkas shyt themselves. :woah:
Bear in mind ppl until OBCL just thought Rae was aight .
As good as parts of IWW was, artistically it was a big step down from the POV documentary of queensbridge and NY of illmatic. Mafiaso braggadocio was unquestionably a stylistic step down from the heights of illmatic, and combined with the rnb sounds and commercial pandering it was looking funny in the light.
FYI there is the no champagne from Sicily :Jamarnah:
You're already one of the better posters on this site. Welcome! What brought you here?

That's why the IWW struggle-fanboys who talk all this lyricism crap just make me laugh. They don't really listen to this music deeply. They like surface shyt. "technicals", "pop hooks", "cliche topics."
Obviously Q Tip was wrong cause look at Nas now. If Nas went the direction the people who was bootlegging his album wanted him to. Who knows if we would even be speaking about him other than past tense. I love Illmatic, think it's prolly the GOAT hip hop album and had the cassette on release but some of yall worship the shyt and literally fukked Nas over for years cause of it.""I WAS MASTERING AND Q-TIP SAID TO ME, ‘YOU’RE KILLING HIS CAREER.’" —STEVE STOUTE"
Q GOAT producer told you! (Same Q who oversaw mobs infamous and we know how that turned out). The Cacmasters , slapstick comedy duo, almost did ruin his career if it wasn't for 3 things.
A) illmatic's legacy running over
B) GODs lyricism
C) the fact this pop nikkas n cacs buckled under columbias huge marketing machine, bought so many copies of the shyt.
But If you nikkas feel "Nursery Rhyme Nas" then
. If Nas went the direction the people who was bootlegging his album wanted him to. Who knows if we would even be speaking about him other than past tense.
IWW > Illmatic
Most cinematic album ever.
What do you mean by cinematic? If you mean vivid descriptive storytelling then
Unfortunately these were all
The Firm clique, that was an integral part of IWW, was a complete fantasy, where 3 young NY rapper kids were moving weight with the South American cartels
Meaning if he did what u nikkas wanted him to do he would be broke and his career as we know it would prolly have never happened. For all the praise Illmatic got the people didn't support him wit they pockets. The publications snubbed him for Biggie. And he had to do something different cause if not the nikka would prolly still be in the hood. On top of that. He got criticism for the same shyt all his peers was gettin praise for. It was flat out retarded.I'm confused as to what you're talking about here?
