You just explained it yourself without realizing it ...he was over bc of the rock and wrestling era and the cartoon...he was over the same way scotty 2 hotty was over during the attitude era...by association...Nobody paid to see hillbilly Jim....no classic fueds...no classic moments...no titles even....let's not pretend he was JYD who actually was over on his own merit and in other territories.. He was basically a Hogan hanger on like Brutus....

I'd really like someone to post some clips of his most memorable moments. So far people have only mentioned the cartoon and Jim didn't even do the voice in the cartoon.

Nah lol, hillybilly Jim was the 2nd biggest face in the company once upon a time, koko was never that. Hillbilly Jim was a guy at one point that even non wrestling fans heard of in the 80's. Just because his announcement into the Hall of Fame doesn't interest any of us because his prime was well before our time doesn't mean he was a nobody.

I was under the impression that the hall took territory/pre E body of work into consideration, which is why ppl that never or scarcely wrestled for the E are in.
