Couple of Russian flicks:

Russian Ark is a 2002 historical drama film directed by Alexander Sokurov. It was filmed entirely in the Winter Palace of the Russian State Hermitage Museum using a single 96-minute Steadicam sequence shot

Tarkovskiy has some good films but his films are not for everybody. Some other decent films by him are Solaris and Andreiv Rublev.

Haunters (Korea) - basically there is a guy who can control people by seeing them and he comes across the main dude who is the only person who he cant control and the main dude sets on stopping him.

its hard to explain the genre because it takes little bits from alot of different genres (supernatural/superhero/thriller/action), but it sets a great mood and is very tense.

also,

The First Grader (Kenya) - tells a true story of an 84 year old villager who signs up to go to school to learn to read through a loophole in the governments new education program.
