Eh...not too interested in that topic. My proposals...
-Supreme Court ruling on the Affordable Care Act...gotta talk about that. And lead it into a larger discussion about healthcare in America and what should change about it.
-There's been another SCOTUS ruling that didn't make the headlines like the ACA ruling did, but is very important as well and should be addressed. They shot down the state of Montana's challenge to the Citizens United ruling. We could talk about that and lead it into a larger conversation about Citizens United and the influence of money in politics.
-International geopolitics. The Syria situation and Russia's involvement, and that Muslim Brotherhood dude getting elected in Egypt.
-End with general hip-hop discussion. We talked about it last time, but never got around to it.
I disagree Vic. Especially because you want to have a general Hip Hop discussion at the end. Sure, Higher Learning can get to that but the question of America's decline is important and transcends everything. Half the reason why we don't get the improvements we need in society are because people believe in outdated models. You have Republicans still talking about the 80s and others going even farther back than that. You have students that come here because we have the best universities and then go back to their home countries. We essentially subsidize our competition. You have our failure to capture the "hearts and minds" of the world like we used to. I think it would be a great discussion to have about the US' role in the emerging global political order, and the realization that "we aren't number 1 in anything anymore."
Because the ACA segways into that perfectly. It's an example of us playing catch up again, and yet, as you preferred, there's no single payer option. Just how far have caught up? It's symbolic of why we trail in so many things right now. We're still having debates that most other countries decided decades ago.

I think that topic is a little too broad for now and can end up going on too many different tangents. I suggested the first one be broad and general because it was the first one and we were just feeling each other out and didn't know how it would go. I think it's clear now we have no problem filling up a podcast. There were no awkward pauses or silences. You could do a whole show just on America's standing in the world. I think we should postpone that convo. The healthcare discussion will probably be very lengthy already. As far as hip-hop, I don't want to talk about who's the hottest rapper or none ofb that, but rather the corporate nature of the music industry and the cultural and.sociological impact
of hip-hop and that is a HL discussion.

Yeah I think there should probably either be a new upped thread about it or this thread title changed to reflect the new time and date. People have to know when to tune in.

It's actually fairly common to see cats like this in the West Indies, pretty obvious, why...
But the accent, is still suspect (no homo). Breh doesn't have a West Indian Accent imo....

He shouldn't have an accent if he's born and raised in the U.S. though. My mother's Bermudian and my father's Guyanese and neither of them have a thick accent. And I sound like a typical dude from southeast Virginia like Allen Iverson, Michael Vick, or Pusha T.

I don't know. You guys can vote on that. I feel like we all know it and that would be just a bunch of "I agree" or "A-Men"ing. As far as the question of whether the "decline" topic is too broad, indeed it is. And maybe it could be the subject of another podcast which is generally about America's decline because that could be an entire podcast. There could be specific issues and how they contribute to that decline, but I think that's an important discussion to have. Especially heading into the election. Too many people like "Real Talk" don't recognize that there is a problem.
As far as 2PM, is this confirmed and agreed upon? I wasn't going to change it until I was sure. I did not want a repeat of last week.
