Lol...I talked to @Broke Wave in PM about organizing them in private since the threads don't seem to work.
I'm open to suggestions on how to plan them better. Should we make a private group? Have a way where everyone can list when they're available and plan around that?
People seem to like doing them and people like listening to them as well. It's just hard to get on the same page. HL posters tend to have jobs, school, families, and serious things like that going on in life on average more than most of the site lol.

I think a private group, which people can view the discussions publicly, would work. Lurkers / outsiders / First timers could easily chime in.
The private group can set a date,time, and organize topics.
The best way of combating retention maybe to allot someone the duty of mass pming all the members willing to do the podcast a "few" days ahead of time.
The message inside the pm, should only be a reminder to look at the private group. not to setup meetings in private. So no confusion occurs...
By keeping everything out in the open, no one should feel left out of the occasion or dumbfounded about the timing of the show(probably will still happen).

I don't know how people will be more likely to view a private group than an upped thread. I think it's just a matter of planning a week ahead of time and confirming who will be there and sticking with that firm group of people. If you guys lock down the group of people, I can PM reminders or even have an announcement in red thrown at the topic of the forum as a reminder like the one about spoilers in TLR. One person has to designate his self as the person who will constantly PM reminders leading up to the event, and who will PM any topic changes. Probably VVD because he's hosting them. BUT to fill you guys in on the bad news, technical difficulties won't allow anything like that to go up right now. So if you were planning to do it in the next few days there's no point. You could do it and I can link to it from this thread, but other than that, I don't think I can get it front page support right now until a couple tweaks happen.

its pretty simple what you have to do, you simply have to set a date and time, and then have the date and time in an upped thread for at least a week, its that simple
a couple of more tips, dont do it on a holiday weekend and dont set the date and time a couple of days in advance

Well be part of the solution instead of making snarky comments from the sideline all the time then, a$$hole. You got some nerve talking after you showed up like 40 minutes late like "yo where everybody at?" a few months back.
If you want to partake, take a lead role role and try to organize people and propose times, dates, and topics. The podcast doesn't belong to me or anyone else. It's a HL group effort.

Yeah both the sidebar and the blog are down for a while, the layout and access are both being revamped.

You're being irritating because you act like that hasn't been done multiple times and it still didn't go down.
Yeah, a 2 or 3 day turnaround time isn't good, but there have been times where it was planned a week or more in advance and didn't happen because people didn't show up or had something come up and didn't make it.
You weren't following those threads. So you're speaking with this snarkiness about things you don't know about, proposing something that has already been done on many occasions to no avail.
Like I said, be part of the solution. Why don't you try to organize one for a change?
If I was you and @Jutt, I'd get a basic site to send your stuff to in the mean time, and then re-up it on here when the time comes. I'm sure the Arcadium mods would not mind posting up that there's a new geekset podcast whenever one comes out for a bit.
