so yall are arguing about whether waka and jay have the same fan base? :wtf:
thats odd lol

i think waka's fan base is more like wiz or currensy's fan base.

but jays fan base is global. people may have their own opinions on his character but i have never met anyone in real life who doesnt respect jay z musically. everybody listens to jay.

but there certainly are people who listen to both waka and jay.

but are yall really arguing about this or is there a larger point someone is trying to make:usure:

VVD never argued that Jay and Waka have the same fan base. 88M3 said that in response to an off hand comment I made about the guys in here acting like Jay fans = Waka or any other commercial rapper. It's running thing on the-coli for VVD and others to try to downplay Jay as a sideways way to big up Nas. But I've only responded to him personally once on the subject and never even went back to the thread even though I saw he quoted me while I was at work.

I just know that when Life is Good dropped Nas stans on here became obnoxious. They diminished Jay-Z to a "party rapper" and then got quite when I brought it up. Some guy called me a "mad idiot" because I gave him the :merchant: look for saying that Nas would regarded as the voice of this generation 20 years from now. Again, silence when I responded to that ridiculous assertion. That's just my recent annoyance with Nas stannery on this board. A lot of these guys view Nas as some teacher saying something profound all the time and can't see how different people perceive things in different ways or are affected differently or hear music differently. The thread that Serious quoted my post from and that VVD is referencing is evidence of that.

It's honestly not that serious. I just co-signed what someone else said about your podcast--you can't have an honest conversation about Hip Hop or a guy like Jay because you're all Nas stans. That's what I was referencing in that thread in particular. Mind you, I haven't heard that podcast.

I'll say this though, I'm curious to see the quality of your conversation on Hip Hop's effect on the youth because I serious doubts about the extent to which many of the participants even understand the youth and how they think. I work with teenagers a lot. THAT podcast I'll listen to.

Uh, I don't knock Jay-Z to big up Nas. I have criticized Jay for his deteriorating skill, effort, and passion and spotty body of work. That criticism exists independently of Nas. Even if Nas was dropping garbage, those valid criticisms of Jay would still exist and I'd speak about them.

Lol@you having the audacity to call anyone a stan. Your camel stanning is at super saiyan levels. You actually tried to recruit fellow Jay dikkriders for the podcast because you got jealous that Nas was getting too much props. :laff: It's gonna take a while for you to live that one down.

Personally, I don't really concern myself if someone else considers the best rapper to be someone different than who I think. You literally GET MAD when people don't consider Jay the best on some "He's supposed to be #1 on everybody's list, fukk this :scusthov:" shyt. Getting mad when people don't worship your favorite rapper is the hallmark of stannery.

:beli:

It was a Jay-Z thread and I was responding while trying to get a more diverse group of participants for YOUR podcast low key. It's well established that I have never listened to any of the hip hop discussions on the podcast. Not one. :aicmon: I only know about the rampant Nas stannery because of your comments in the thread and in other posts.

Stop. :childplease:

Uh, so like I said, you got mad that Nas was getting too much props on the podcast so you went to the booth to try and recruit Jay stans.

Nah 88 said that, not me. The only reason Jay is even a topic of discussion at all is because of Bar None's unsuccessful quest to recruit Jay stans for the podcast...lmao.

nobody really disses jay on the podcast tho... we all give jay his props, but he still gets analyzed and criticized like any other rapper we discuss.

and also giving nas props does not equal dissing jay

It isn't enough to have Jay in your top 5 and consider him one of the all time elite for some camel stans like Bar None. You have to have him #1 or else you are dumb, factually wrong, and detached from reality and in need of education.

Just a suggestion: might be good to chat about the Olympics in some capacity.

I found it hilarous that during the gymnast prelims, they didn't pay any attention to gabby (the black female) until she won a gold medal more attention was paid to aly raisman's :datazz: parent reaction & Jordyn Wieber crying :scusthov:

I never said it did, and I wasn't the one who came up with the idea that you were Nas stans. Your listeners did. Not to mention, I've seen posts in the Booth, but like I said...that conversation had nothing to do with any of you besides a side comment. That discussion had very little to do with the podcast and the only reason it's being talked about in here is because Serious linked to it.

No one ever said that giving Nas props = dissing Jay. Those entire discussions were about how people couldn't do that.

You're a special character. The type that is so convinced of his own cleverness that he responds to imaginary arguments and specializes in strawmen. It's pitiful really. I guess all those years of arguing with intellectual lightweights on here have made you lazy.

Here's the problem: you make generalized arguments about Nas, Jay, etc. I call you out on them. You write a response which I don't care to read because it never relates in any way to the substance of what I've said. :yeshrug:

In what reality is the guy who one day ago said IN THIS THREAD, "There are those moments where Nas spits something, and you wonder if anyone else could've spit it," against someone besides Jay being number 1? Just go do your podcast. :what:
