If this is gonna be bigger than a book club and the goal is to actually build, instead of us passing around ebooks to each other, we should buy from local black book stores in our neighborhood. Or even better, pool our money together and buy books collectively from one black owned store.
Acquiring knowledge is cool, but just knowing a bunch of shyt isn't going to help us as a people.

eh something like that , the average "awake " young dude already know at least a bit of whats in both the HC films but your average hood (chief keef) type young dude aint thinkin bout that, now they go on they twitter or instgram etc, see waka with this pic and at LEAST they might be inclined to peep a few youtube vids of HC
as opposed to them seeing dr. wesley Muhammad or ben yosef talkin something which they feel they cant relate to at all
Education comes before the building stage , brotha. Rushing yourself will only cause more harm in the long run. Its unfortunate that view the arming of minds as nothing more than "passing around e-books". How will buying books from a book store cause harm in the long run? Someone went through the trouble to do the research, distribution, and selling of those books, and you're advocating them not being paid for it?
Breh, you're saying a whole lot of nothing. At what point will that knowledge be applied to benefit those who need it most? The black community doesn't need any more books, they need people to take what they learned, and put it to practice. Even in hidden colors 2 they spoke of having an economic base. By not purchasing the books from the black owned businesses who sell them, we're not helping the problem.
Nothing I said was radical. All I stated is instead of sending around ebooks to each other, buy the book from a black owned store so we can put black money in the hands of black business owners.

How can we learn from the mistakes of our elders if we dont even know who our elders were OR what they even wanted to accomplish.
There is absolutely no reason to reinvent the wheel here. Lets build off of the works that was done before us.
One problem I want to avoid that has become prevalent in the "conscious community" is learning/debating simply to inflate the ego. We've seen too many forums and watched many youtube debates where the opposing sides treated the debate like a hip-hop freestyle battle instead of an opportunity to reveal knowledge that can improve our people as a whole, and nothing beneficial truly was gained.. fukk ego, bring something to the table that will help your brother.
If you have a directory of local/national black owned businesses, share it with the community.
If you work in an industry and have knowledge/experience that will help your brother, break it down.
Natural/Holistic foods & remedies? School us.
Etc.
