Gotta agree with @HHR on this one...even when I was a kid, I thought Jungle all the Way was lame except for Phil Hartman...And I was a Sinbad stan for a while but the movie was just flat all around for me.

The point is this though: this is a list of our favorite christmas movies..we aren't talking greatest movies ever, greatest comedies ever, or greatest performances ever; we're talking Christmas. Meaning that these are the movies that remind us of the season, we watch with family, we watched as kids and still do, or movies that are a part of tradition. Not every movie on the list is going to be a five star flick but they do all mean different things to different people. Is Jingle all the way a GREAT flick? No, but neither is home alone 2 for that matter but obviously they both mean something to the people who put them on their lists thus they made the cut. Sometimes when a movie resonates with you emotionally, all of the other shyt takes a backseat.

Yeah but home alone is a much better film in all aspects. tone, comedy, characters and climax. theres no comparison other than they r both christmas flicks.

Yes but if Jingle All the Way is a movie that someone watches with the family every year, who am I or you to tell them that the shyt doesn't count?

:mjlol:Ya'll tripping man. As much as I hated on JATW in that past, you can't deny it being a great Christmas flick.

You got the Terminator out on a mission to get the hottest toy of the season for his son (homage to A Christmas Story) on the last day of Christmas shopping. Who hasn't been through that or watched this shyt play out on tv on Boxing day, Black Friday, etc. The plot alone is hilarious. Arnold was ready to move heaven and earth to get that toy. And how can you hate on Sinbad? If you don't like Houseguest then :camby:right now. JATW is the perfect movie for Christmas. It shares a great story with a good moral and also has a bunch of classic scenes.

-Arnold taking on the factory of Santa's in an all out brawl.:takedat:
-Sinbad faking a bomb threat that turns out to be real.:wow:
-The ball chase scene.:lolbron:
-When he tells his wife "Your my #1 customer" I always :dead:
-The white kid giving up the toy at the end so the poorer black kid could eat. :ahh:

And it actually has something to say about the commercialization of christmas and how it's all about gift giving and how crazy we all go over getting the hottest item. It's not a "perfect" movie but damn nikkas it's christmas lol.

i was speaking on the quality of the films. if people like a crappy movie for there own reasons fine but in no way does jingle all the way compare to home alone. i coulent care less if its a christmas movie there are plenty of terrible holiday films.

Breh my ultimate point was all of these flicks, maybe minus two, have issues and can be picked a part to death. Home Alone 2 isn't that good of a flick and we have a thread dedicated to it lol but it's still on this list. Miracle on 34th St is probably one of the best pure films to be on any of these lists yet it didn't make the final cut and that's just because when it comes to Christmas, "quality" doesn't matter. I get what you're saying but complaining about any movie that made the final cut to me just feels like an exercise in futility

:obama:It's the perfect American Christmas Story for our times. It happens every year and this movie was ahead of it's time in capturing the desperation people go through around this time of year.

:blessed:Thank the Lord we now have Amazon and google and shyt to call up stores and check inventory before we even leave the house.

Trying to find some damn little mermaid socks now and Hot Topic is irking me for being one of the last stores that doesn't have the ability to see inventory in stores

we just discussing, which is the point of this list and thread. ur arguement suggests we shouldnt nit pick because all flms have flaws(nah really?) and we should give it a pass cuz its just. christmas movie. :rudy:

i actually went to see that travesty in the theater :snoop: i was an arnold stan. i knew at that point his career was going south. junior might be his worst film and i thought that was a fluke travesty until jingle and batman and robin dropped. So yeah ppl on this board liked it thats all that katters but for me its a. top5 worst shwarznegger flick...i wont even let my kids watch it, i stick to the certified classics :win:

No discussing is one thing...like "damn why didn't this make the list" because I know if Scrooged didn't make it, @kp404 was going to be pissed and a couple other movies that people hold near and dear but the point is talking about the quality of these flicks is futile which is what I meant but didn't state well so that's my b. @Uncle_Ruckus really wanted Miracle on 34th st to make the list and it didn't and he stated why he feels like it should be. And he's made a couple good arguments as to why Jingle All the Way is on the list.

I didn't see it in the theater but I did see it when it came to video and I hated it. Couldn't get with it, thought it was stupid but as time has gone on, I understand what it's about and actually appreciate the meaning and sentiment behind it. I think it's a much better flick then it gets credit for at least in terms of a christmas movie and how those movies normally work. If there's any movie that should be on the list I think it's Miracle on 34th st but it didn't make the cut but I do feel like this one belongs on it

Agreed. Jingle All the Way just doesn't work on any level. I don't care if it was a Valentine's Day movie set with Valentine's Day themes, its sloppy, bland, and it made one my favorite childhood comedians (Sinbad) act painfully unfunny.
