Of course he was used, both parties do it to pander honestly, but the difference is Cain and Obama is that Obama is truthfully more pragmatic than idealistic so he actually won some people over that were on the fence politically to get elected. Cain might have had a shot at winning the nomination from his own party, but the way the political game goes is it won't be a black guy running on the democrat side so they will be pandering to something else.
