I think the act of auditing the federal government top to bottom and showing the American people exactly how their tax dollars are being spent is a great, and long overdue idea.
... and while I believe DOGE has gone about it very very poorly... I don't think an audit like this happens at all without someone problematic like Musk/Trump pushing it:manny:
I will have to wait to see if the juice was worth the squeeze.

I suspect Musk/DOGE disgust you, but how do you feel about the level of federal gov transparency/accountability DOGE is aiming for?

Sad thing is, most folks in this country really gonna fall for this spin, just like you have.

Im really seeing real time how true wickedness is allowed to start

The government already does routine audits at each agency.

From what i understand, thats not the case.:hubie:

ChatGPT:
The Pentagon underwent its first-ever audit in 2018. The audit discovered major flaws in how it handles IT processes and challenges with its internal tracking databases, but did not discover any major cases of fraud or abuse. The audit was long sought by Congress and good-government groups. The audit examined every aspect of the Defense Department, from personnel and supplies to bases and weapons, and involved at least 2,400 auditors.

Pentagon obviously is where the audits and waste are at

But like USAID has been very transparent

In theory transparency and accountability is a good thing but the auditing agency should be set up through congress.

You’re asking the most corrupt and partisan President of all time to call balls and strikes fairly?

Nah, Trump should not be appointing the auditor especially not the billionaire that put him into office and receives government contracts in the first place

I think we are at a point where "waste" is a very partisan term. :pachaha:

An LGBTQ advocacy organization in Serbia — a country that fares poorly compared with other European countries on measures of LGBTQ rights, according to data from the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights — hosted a three-year program aimed at improving the inclusion of LGBTQ people in the workplace.
From February 2023 to October 2024, USAID committed to spending about $1.5 million — in three roughly $500,000 installments — to support the program.

Based on how Republicans have railed against DEI here i think we can safely guess how they view these international efforts.
Also, I think the agency is transparent and its more of a "hey look what they are doing", than a "they are hiding this".

Agreed, but congress has shown no serious will or intent to do so... so here we are:manny:
I'm also a fan of outside oversight.

Weird how none of the EO have gone at the corporations and billionaire CEOs overcharging the government programs.

Are we going to find out why an IV or band-aid cost 75 to 100 dollars using that new found executive power?
That’ll be right after he gets egg prices back to normal. I know he said day 1 but there’s so much to fix so just give him a chance to get around to all that.
