These major mergers are horrible in any industry. However, due to the repackaging of politics/economics/corporate culture into a team sport where your average idiot American can choose his own political party or brand to support fanatically like the hometown sports team, none of these consequences are deemed important by the masses, until they feel it in their wallet, and even then all it takes is a good speech, promise or product to get them back on board.

Just like I can despise the economic system of Capitalism yet "enjoy" the "benefits" (enough money to eat, have somewhere to sleep and purchase a few more consumer distractions than the next man), I can be entertained by a piece of media, yet be disgusted by the conglomerate that brought it in front of me. The staunch Capitalist will proclaim proudly that the Corporation's sole purpose is to provide profit to shareholders (bullshyt I say, but that's another topic) and to us, the consumer and stakeholder they owe nothing. Well, you don't owe a Corporation or conglomerate your loyalty just because they produce things you like. They aren't doing it for you personally, so why should you have any affection for them? Thanks Amazon for the two day shipping but fukk you and Jeff Bezos anyway for your continued mistreatment of the worker.

Stanning particular corporations is strange as hell to me. And I'm someone that still enjoys reading about business, mergers, corporate structure etc.

Kevin Tsujihara would have been in there to add a tiny speck of color to that photo but he couldn't control his lust for white p*ssy and got taken out the paint.

If you're not actually invested from a financial standpoint, it makes zero sense to stan a corporation, this goes back to the Sony and XBOX wars and all that bullshyt. These people are dumb af and don't realize how terrible it is for the industry.

What movie studio did that merger cut out? How many people in the movie industry lost jobs because a telephone company merged with a movie studio? :dahell:

Warner Bros. and Universal who are owned by Comcast are making the same amount of movies they always have

:unimpressed:

"Life Of Pi", "Hidden Figures", "The Fault In Our Star", "Paper Towns", "Bridge Of Spies"....are among the few hits/border line hits Fox 2000 Picture Studios (being closed down by the Fox/Disney merger) has had in the last decade.

You have literally zero posts about any of those successful movies, anywhere in this sub-forum.

You cats want to complain about studios shutting down and jobs lost but don't even support the movies they produce. Which is why I said, it has nothing to do with any of that.

You are most definitely cherry picking, I've discussed a lot of small budget films on here from A24, FOX Searchlight etc.. every one of the films I put in my signature list I've seen, I just watched Uncut Gems last night, I saw Just Mercy the other night, I've been discussing Parasite on here and in the event I don't post it doesn't mean I haven't seen it..

I support small budget movies all the time, you need to talk to someone else and not me about that

It ain't my fault people keep creating the same threads over and over and you don't merge them, why is there another thread discussing Leto's Joker on the front page :mjlol:

Warner (and At&t) are literally getting rid of channels (Cinemax, Audience Network) ahead of the HBOMAX, you think people aren't losing jobs?

HBO Max is pumping out 10x the content that HBO used to.. (along with Netflix, Amazon, etc) How are people losing jobs? It's creating more jobs, there's more content now on those platforms than ever before.

It’s all Disney’s fault :russ:

Look man, I'm gonna need you cats to keep the same energy. The Disney/Fox merger wasn't any more or less problematic than the ATT/WB one but for some odd reason only one is seen as the end of the world. You cats gotta stop injecting this comic stan nonsense into unrelated threads.

Fred.

I'm not even trying to go that far and jump into the Stan Wars shyt. That's not what my post was about because I don't care about that stuff. The example with the characters just fit.

It's more about the fact that as people, we easily let dangerous shyt pass if there's sugar wrapped around the poison.

15 studios run by a small group of people is bad.

5-7 studios run by an even smaller group is bad, and most importantly impenetrable. It cannot be defeated. It cannot be bought.

That goes for every aspect of life and business.

Or we are celebrating the silver linings of a deal none of us did or had the power to stop. :stopitslime:

Fair.

Again, this wasn't specifically about Disney or the Stan Wars. I've never posted about that stuff because outside of the movies, I don't really care one way or the other.

But I should have known by phrasing it how I did that it would be interpreted that way.

Back to observing I go.
