I know Sean P is sick, but the Rocness Monsta is so underrated. His voice, delivery, wordplay is

unfathomable. Was, I the only who didn't get this Therapy line "Brummy jazz only married to

jawana
"? I was always like married to jawana? Then I said it fast one day, and realized he was talking about marijuana. :krs:

Such an epic posse cut....The seamless back and forth. That's my BCC :to:

I was always bugged with how much Dru looked liked Pacino in the video :krs:

Aiyyo why, oh, why did I need Cappuccino
Scar on my face but I'm not Al Pacino
We 3 amigos, Sparsky and Dutch we bring mo'
Drama than what? A prime time NBC TV show

Our childhood was priviledged with Hip-Hop like this. :to:

It wasn't a classic, dope album but not a classic, not by 1996 standards, and this is from a magazine that had an east coast bias. We overuse that term.

On a side note Nocturnal was maybe the 2nd or 3rd best album of '96 to me.
If Nocturnal is top 2/3 from 96 aka a classic...Dah Shinin is easily.

Easily.

If I made a list...probably in my top 25.

The other side, otherwise
Great album - classic to me. I'ma have to sift through the vast cd piles to find it, too - old school shyt! Their second album 'Magnum Force' was dope as well, but it had way too many features, and skipping the skits and interludes and bullshyt was aggravating.

I think I like the old rappity-rap Sean Price as Ruck more than I do the current version. He was on some other shyt when he came back with Monkey Barz, but the style he's grown with has thrown me off as of late. It seems simplistic for a guy who used to rip it like this. Damn near reminds me of Kurupt, and I'll be :sadbron: if Sean Price falls any further into that category. Not at all saying he's there just yet, but I've heard more sub par Sean verses than dope ones recently.

He was a magnificent beast on Nocturnal, though :smugdraper:

It's funny on D.I.R.T P says "release the Beast, I'm Hank McCoy ". :krs:

I agree Magnum was too jam packed and didn't have the same smooth dark BCC mystique as Nocturnal.

D.I.R.T lyrics are :minblown: but the production was differnet from what I expectd.

I think Sean P's flow from Ruck was him differentiating himself as not just another 90s East Coast rapper. I like both personas, though.

I also think Da Shinin is a classic, I just think Nocturnal is a step or two away from that but still very dope.

Ha...yesterday was a Heltah Skeltah day for me too. Listened to their 3 joints, and Sean Price's solo joints as well.

Nocturnal is probably my favorite BCC release, followed closely by Dah Shinin' & the Enta Da Stage/Diggin' in Dah Vaults combo. I've always been partial to Nocturnal, and it's one of the albums I could listen to at any time, regardless of the time of year, mood, whatever. When hear Starang's voice to start it , then Rock just bursts through the door on "Here We Come", you know you're in for some shyt. Not a weak spot on the album.

And  @ Dah Shinin' getting only 3 Mics. What a fukking joke...
