Left-click on the speaker icon in the System tray on right end of your task bar and check to see if the sound is muted. You'll see the speaker icon is crossed-out.​

I agree with @ugksam toss that shyt in the trash and get something better. I'm looking over at my old Toshiba Satellite in the corner right now in disgust

When I get my money up, Ima look into getting into a mac simply for the build quality. I've been a PC guy all my life but I just bought a new Samsung ATIV last year (the $600 one) and this shyt aint goin make it another 6 months. The battery cord is ripped and has the internal wires exposed, the battery is bricked (have to keep it plugged in), the ctrl buttom just fell off the other day. One of the covers for the hinges for the screen came off, the plastic encasing on the screen is fukking up too. I know it's partially my fault, but Im a student and I take my shyt everywhere, I need something much more durable

first of all click ur sound button in the lower right hand corner....click mixer and make sure shyt aint muted
