Anyway this error is usually either -

1. Bad RAM
2. Hard drive dying


So I doubt there's anything you can download to fix it. I'd check memory first by running a diagnostic - Investigate RAM problems with Vista's Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool - TechRepublic

If it says your memory is bad then just replace it. If the memory is fine then it's probably the hard drive. At that point you may just want to look at a new computer (which you probably need anyway) as opposed to reinstalling Vista (again, :huhldup:) on another drive.

Anyway

Try reseating your memory or updating your patches (which im sure you haven't done in years). It's probably a bad driver thats conflicting with your old ass OS... Especially if you installed new software or devices

If its a physical issue than see the post above and replace that shyt

on the off chance that it is malware, you should download and run Combofix
Downloaded it....took about 20 minutes to scan and another 20 min to delete temporarily files. Seems like a powerful tool. idk. maybe it will work
