I hope any Dak stans realize that McCarthy getting a contract extension mostly because he doesnt want to learn a new offense and is “comfortable”
an offense where he does his usual dink and dunk and then the occasional throw it deep or in the seam to a tight end. Imagine Dak running LaFleur offense? It would be comedic. It's an absolute joke that this is news that he wants to talk to Jerry to keep McCarthy. Who has done that before? I have to think on this one. You've won 1 playoff game in 5 seasons. Both of you, Dak and Mike, need to sit down and shut up. That sets a big time precedence there.

He knows he has leverage because the coaching staff, front office, local/national media, and majority of fanbase are absolutely braindead and run with whatever narrative the Chris Broussards and SASs feed them.

“He gets you to the playoffs. Pay the man” carries a lot of weight for people who don’t understand what they’re watching over the course of 3 hours, week in, week out.

Emmanuel Acho: Okay. I hear what you’re saying. Now it’s my turn. Riddle me this. Here’s a quarterback. And a coach. That lead you to not just one. Not just two. bUt ThReE sTrAiGhT sEaSonS oF tWeLvE WiNs. Am I wrong, Joy? Am I wrong?

Joy: you’re not wrong

Tads: damn, this mf spittin :ohhh:

This is how we end up resigning Dak to a record contract and bringing Fat Mike back and continue to dwell in futility

Or the narrative he is shield that takes all the hits for the jones incompetence.

As much as SAS annoys me and I hate to even think this could be me defending him, I think deep down he knew they shouldn't have paid him or at least waited. Because he was telling them that the players didn't truly believe in him. But it was the Mike Greenberg, Dominique Fox (especially), Jeff Saturday, Rex Ryan, and Damian Woody cohorts that kept repeating about paying him. Only Dan Orvlovsky was saying they need to tear it down and nobody should be safe.

As far as the fanbase. I don't know where to begin on that. The funny thing is they throw out this tired question of "who will you get that's better". Stupid lazy question. The Chiefs didn't rest on Smith laurels and the eagles didn't rest on Wentz laurels. That part of the fanbase aren't Cowboy fans. They are Dak fans.

This is the biggest fallacy running amongst cowboys nation. Nothing is shielding Jerry from the criticism being launched his way the last 30 years.

Not any player or scheme or coach or outcome. Jerry, his dumb son, and the fellow yes men that comprise this front office stay getting shyt on and hated from the fanbase. Some loser QB from 2016-2024 isn’t some miraculous deflection for their incompetence.

The ONLY time in my adult life I’ve seen the fanbase even slightly let up on Jerry’s neck was ironically during the Garret era when Romo-Dez-Ware had us within a blown call from an NFC CG in 2014-2015 season. I don’t remember another failed year where Cowboys Nation wasn’t lamenting the ineptitude and nepotism of this putrid franchise.

If anything, Jerry and the FO are being used as shields for Dak, but half of this fanbase isn’t ready for that discussion.

Damn near everytime SAS talks about Mike and he playcalling he always brings up how McCarthy lied to get Kellen fired. Then went on to throw the ball just as much if not more than him.
Cooper threw the ball 55 times vs Houston. Fifty-Five. That is a fireable offense. He has throw for 30 or more times in 5 games out of the 8 and two of the others were in the upper 20s. He is just as past happy as he think Moore was.
