It can't be understated how big of a mistake that Dak contract was..this should have been a 2 year soft reset:

-Grab next franchise QB in the 2025 draft
-Sit through some growing pains next season, if it goes well maybe this is still a playoff team but if not you get another good draft pick.
-Knock out the 2026 draft + use cap to fill in any positions of need in FA.
-Window open to contend for the rest of the decade before paying QB big deal.

Now we're stuck trying to figure out how to get 7-8 new starters we need next year (including covering for Diggs and Overshown) without the cap space and draft picks to do it all.

This is incredibly weird energy considering what we've seen from Dak in those SF and GB playoff games.
AND the Saints, Ravens, and Lions games at home this season...
Only difference between Dak and Rush is that Rush don’t pad his stats in garbage time… no real dropoff production wise.

Why do people have faith in Jerry?

We've had 9 years of Dak and everyone is done. We've had 30 years of Jerry without Jimmy but people still believe he'd somehow make Dallas into SB contenders just off dumping Dak.

They SHOULD have let Dak go walk to another team. However, I'm not convinced Dallas would be any better off since it's still Stephen and Jerry running the show.

It's not about faith in Jerry it's about having options. Options to get to the next window of contention, we had our time with Dak that window is now closed shut. It's not Jerruh's fault this mf shyts the bed in the playoffs.

I blame Dak for the playoff game at San Francisco in 2022. The one in Dallas was Dak + the defense committing dumb penalties.

The Green Bay game.....that was the whole team falling apart. Coaches, Dak, Micah, CeeDee....errbody messed up that week.

I guess my angle is that Dak only accounts for 9 years out of 30. Jerry had 20 years BEFORE Dak to get it right, and rolled snake eyes.

Dak isn't good enough to carry the team and Jerral Wayne won't hire a strong enough coach to offset Dak's shortcomings. He could have let Dak walk but didn't do that either. My guess is he knows Dak is "good enough" to keep you competitive...and that's all you need to sell Cowboys tickets. Then, he just takes chances with coaches willing to put up with the Jones' bullshyt. If he was gonna ride with Dak, he needed to upgrade the HC. If he wanted to let Dak walk, he might have been able to keep Mike and just get a QB with more raw talent.

You have to love how it’s well understood across all sports that GMs assemble the roster and coaches devise the schemes and game plans, but at the end of the day, it’s the players who gotta play.

We’ve heard coaches and players say this across sports.

But with the Dallas Cowboys this doesn’t apply. The players don’t actually play. They have no culpability.

Well, that’s not true. The defense sucks. fukk the Jaylon Smiths and Snake Lees and Mike Jenkins and Randy Gregorys and Trysten Hills of the world.

And the OL sucks. fukk the Ronald Learys and Moonwalks and Doug Frees of the world.

And the RBs suck. fukk the Fat Zekes and Joseph Randles and Darren McFaddens of the world.

And the WRs suck. fukk the Patrick Craytons and the Terrance Williams and the Michael Gallups of the world.

Dak? Oh nah. Cmon breh. How can you blame Dak when you got old ass Jerral treating the franchise like it’s his wife’s glorified art exhibit. Cmon, we can’t blame the QB!

Legit have never seen a single player in Cowboys history get his awful play defended and deflected to the Owner until this cancerous 4 entered our franchise.
