OOOOF.

PS can fix it though. We support 60 fps around these parts unlike Xbox. Plus with the Pro coming around the corner, the PS5 version of the game will be the best version :therethere:

Some retards here think it is impossible to run games at 60fps on current gen consoles. :dead:
Oh no it's possible but how much graphical fidelity do you expect from a $500 box? I wouldn't expect the better looking games to run at 60fps on a current gen console. You cut down the graphics and hell yeah it can hit 60fps. This will always be the case. You have to pay for high quality. Console gamers aren't willing to pay $1000 to lock in top end performance.

OOOOF.

The Xbox Series X has more power than a PS5.

Which current gen only games that are not remakes are running at a real 60fps
Just stop breh. Almost every major game that's released in the past few years that are current gen only are 60fps.

Returnal,
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
Forspoken
FFVII Rebirth
FFXVI
Stellar Blade
Spider-Man 2
Deathloop
Alan Wake 2

I'm not even done. This is objectively wrong, MAJORITY of games this gen current or not are 60fps.

We are not being honest if we're not stating that there's a major hit to image quality by switching to 60fps.
I don't play FFVII Rebirth or Rachet & Clank or Final Fantasy XVI at 60 fps at all.
So the option just doesn't matter to me.

I'm totally focused on the highest quality picture possible.

So I genuinely don't care if this game is 30 fps.

The narrative was trying to pretend that 60fps modes don't exist in a large portion of games releasing today, not that if it has a lower image quality. Also a lot of the games do have good IQ, some don't. Ratchet and Clank, SM2, Horizon, Ragnarok etc all look amazing in performance modes still. It's really Rebirth and XVI that doesn't have good IQ in those modes.

They exist but there are some caveats:

60 FPS mode is objectively worse and many "next gen" features are cut and/or non-existent in the 60 fps (and frankly the 30 fps mode) mode.
And in the case of FFVII Rebirth pr God of War Ragnarok, it's basically a rezzed up last gen game.

It's not even just about "good IQ".
Several of those games don't even use new technology which is totally unique to this generation.

Like God of War Ragnarok looks great but it's ultimately a really good-looking game using Ps4 technology.

The comparison is silly tbh.

It's like talking about souped roadsters vs. a bugatti veyron or something.

Yeah, it's a steel behemoth with a massive engine, souped up to the max but is it made of carbon fiber ? does it utilize brand new engine technology
built specifically for it's use case?
No? Then why compare?

30 fps in anything
Could not be me.

I wouldn't read a book in 30 fps :hubie: If a game ain't got a performance mode on console then it don't get played. You want to OD on visual spectacle and not delivery in the game aspect, go make a goddamned CGI netflix show.

"movie games' gets tossed around, but... cinematic framerate is barely under 30. If a game can't hit at least 40 fps it is, quite literally a movie game.
Some of the 60 fps modes look terrible on consoles, smoother gameplay at the cost of blurred out pixels shouldn't be the answer.

Most of these are cross gen games and/or using last generation engines ue4. Rebirth deathloop forspoken are all on last gen engines. 16 doesn't look no where near the fidelity, aw2 looks like shyt at 60

“Next gen only” for marketing reasons. It’s obvious neither one of these games is pushing the PS5 as hard as even some other cross gen games. :stopitslime:
Forspoken
FFVII Rebirth
FFXVI
All have 720p 46.5 FPS “performance mode” like i said above :ehh:
Stellar Blade
Not out yet
Spider-Man 2
Huge concessions to the graphics to get 60fps. PS3 generation open world dynamics.
Deathloop
Same as above, Next gen for marketing only. This game is clearly not pushing the hardware.
Alan Wake 2
720p PS3 gameplay.

No. Games that actually use current gen gameplay and graphical techniques. Dense worlds, Detailed simulations, Ray tracing, etc struggle to hit 60fps. The ones that do have “perfomance modes” have to make the game look so dusty people don’t even like using them.

Most of these games are out on PC. We already know which games would work on last gen hardware :stopitslime:

Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart specifically is a last gen engine, it works on pcs without a ssd. Ff7 rebirths 60fps mode is useless, just a bulletpoint at this point. It's not usable
