I am a life long cam'ron stan first and foremost, he's my 1A/1B GOAT, grew up on dipset and always looked at the a-team as far superior to the b-team in terms of song making, havent checked for any of these dudes in like a decade but im always here for some new dipset a-team
with that being said, this project is far superior to diplomatic ties and its not even close
these nikkas sound hungry, sharp, and in their prime meanwhile u can hear the toothlessness in juelz's bars, cams black & mild/liquor damaged voice and uninspired flows, jimmy the only nikka sounding decent.. not to mention the features were trash and didnt fit

If you were a big Dipset fan at their peak like I was, you shouldn't be disappointed in this album at all. Like @SpacelySprockets said, everybody on The Upstage sounds as close to their peak years as possible (JR Writer does sound different. Not bad, but there's something about his voice I can't quite put my finger on.) Jim Jones and the production are completely carrying the Diplomatic Ties album. I think both albums are good, but with pretty even production, I'd say this Upstage album is better do to everybody's rapping ability still being there. Juelz is 100% washed, and Cam is maybe 63% washed.

The dipset CD is good but it's what ud expect in 2018. This upstage project sounds like it's 2004 dips.

People forget that after Juelz and Jim started working solo, Cam was putting out straight heat with the Dipset 2nd string...It’s kinda wack not to involve them in the reunion cuz they did a lot for the Dipset brand
