What Y-DNA haplogroup did they assign you? This is very key. "Middle Eastern" is too broad a term, which includes Turkey, Armenia and Northern Iran, which in the ancient world were considered to be Japhetic lands (See: Josephus and the Dead Sea Scrolls version of "The Book of Jubilees")

There are tons of Askenazis who have the surname "Levi" but DNA tests show that 66-98% of them carry the Ancient Scythian/Khazar Y-DNA marker Haplogroup R1a.

Your Paternal Y-DNA marker is going to show your root ancestry and potentially substantiate your claims.
