Great film....honestly think it's overrated though :yeshrug:

And I think "Thief" is better.

I like 'Thief' a lot, I think it's due for a remake, with Michael Mann, I just wish he would do another crime movie. But, 'Thief' drags in some parts, and some of the 80's stuff is very dated, the ending on 'Thief', when his 'father' reveals what the deal really is, love that part....'Heat' imo, has a very timeless quality...

Yes the ending is just crushing....The look before he left Edie in that car, just a wrenching scene...

The Town >>>> Heat

Heat is bloated and lacks narrative focus. And Renner in The Town >>>> Pacino and DeNiro in Heat.

i never fully appreciated the shootout scene until i saw it blazed one day at a friend's house.

heat was on but we were mainly just bullshytting with the tv on in the background.. as soon as the shootout started, i stopped talking to everyone.

i was hypnotized man.. unbelievable scene. it was crazy how skilled both sides were.. they were not fukking around.

i need to watch this again.

This was Mann's masterpiece....

When Deniro shot that scumbag Waingro in the chest and let his lungs flood with blood :wow:

When he asked the Bank manager for the key and then cold cocked him in the nose :leon:

I just love the fukking blue/grey tone of the entire film, the music... Mann was on one when he made this shyt...

I love that rotating shot that that Man does like at the beginning when the camera starts going in a semicircle around Val Kilmer in the hockey mask and the AR-15... He used it again when the cops show up and investigate the armored truck robbery...

Ofcourse the final gunfight was fukking potent as well... The reason I love it the most is because in the background you can see the other characters engaging eachother, and you get a full scale of where each character is in vicinity to eachother... Clear and concise :blessed:
