Passports don't automatically give you a sense of culture though. How many people do you think that have passports are doing so because they want to enrich themselves in the cultures of the places they are visiting, rather than partying in another country?

Depends on your circle. Most people I know who travel to other countries are responsible adults. We are not turning up for the gram, we go to immerse ourselves in another countries culture and appreciate it for what it is.
I mean If your circle defined most travelers then there wouldn't be so many tourist traps. Rarely do people come to LA to see the art, museums, visit structures like the watts towers or various pieces of open art around the city, they come for the usual tourist locals like disneyland, universal City Walk, the new bars and shyt downtown and the like. Few people are trying to see Olivera street down here even though it's easily accessible
Yes but passports give you the option to. Unless your trying to tell me that passports lack value, this is a baseless arguement, people who choose to remain insular will always lack growth. That's your business, the world is big place. Stay in one corner of it if you choose.
like you said, you have to want it. its not granted to you by proxy of having one, but most boasters act like that book in their pocket gives them some sort of superiority, knowing they are no different than other tourists.
