His legacy gets dwarfed by The Rock's each passing year. :yeshrug:Rock is pretty much the new Hulk Hogan.
That may be argued but hogan brought wrestling to an apex and Steve maybe even brought it higher rock simply took where they had it and carried it strongly during the surge of popularity. Austin 3:16 shirts were as synonymous with wrestling as the nwo shirt or the Brahma bull tee

That's what I had in mind.

At some point they went full force with rock as the main man and kind of pushed Austin into the shadow
I always say wm18 was the turning point and Austin was a fool to not take the match with hogan.
Rock and hogans match was a turning point and cemented the rock

Told that nikka punk he’d drop him on that stack of dimes he calls a neck

This is literally the best buildup for an Austin/Punk match that could have been created :wow:

What could have been :sadcam:

In a dream world they would have just played that entire video, all 13 mins of it, during a Raw, no commercial breaks, nothing

Then shyt would have developed from there, all in the "faux friendly rivalry" ish but no physical contact

Culminating in a one off match where idgaf who won, the match would have been straight piff because the story was there, the legendary veteran who thinks he hasn't lost a step against the current "soft" generation versus the arrogant champ determined to put grampa in his place and show him he's not what he still thinks he is and the current generation can match up to the Attitude Era

Like I said, what could have been

Austin said that Hogan's style clashed...
(I.e Politicking)
But I think Hogan passing the torch the to Rock is more fitting...

The most dissapointing performance in Punk's career. I was shocked at how he reacted to Steve channeling 96' Stone GOAT, it was an unique opportunity and he half assed it. It was weird because it's the kind of thing Punk would excel at and he was so meh with an Austin that was game for creating something special :francis:

He came off respectable. Probably didn't wanna go too storyline since there wasn't no point (Austin not returning). Austin was on another but bigged up Punk still.
