Tracy McGrady to China: Is He a Cult Figure or Desperate for a Job? | Bleacher Report

Injuries Strike

Over the span of his 15-year career, McGrady has missed 276 games due to injury. That is an average of 18.4 games missed per season, which equates to an inability to qualify for most end-of-the-year awards.

Had this man been able to stay healthy, McGrady may have finished his career as a first-ballot Hall of Famer and won himself an MVP award or two.

While a member of the Orlando Magic, McGrady was not only at the top of his career, but the healthiest point as well. T-Mac missed 33 games in four years, but 15 of those came in 2004. In every year prior, T-Mac played in at least 75 games.

Leaving Orlando cursed him in more ways than we know. Fortunately for us, we were blessed to enjoy a decade of basketball brilliance.

If that is what we saw, can you imagine what could have been?

now this shyt just sound disrectpectful since he is out of the league with a disapointing career and I always said.. TMAC was going to fukk his career trying to be a Jordan, he wasnt built for it.. I need to have that convo with my brother again.. now that TMAC career is not even close to Pippen..

.

What you seem to be forgetting is that he was going to Orlando to be Grant Hill's sidekick.

Hill's injuries is what forced T-Mac into a leading role, but that wasn't what he or Orlando had envisioned when he signed with them.

humm. not sure it was to be a sidekick gig tho... but he was salty at being compared to VC... it was an "out of the shadow" move.

it was a bytch move.. dont get emotional.. just play better.

Bosh came out of VC's shadow REAL QUICK.. he could have put VC in the shadow.

so everybody points out that mac was better than vince and therefore shouldn't have been second fiddle...

nobody points out that he was going to a team to play with the ultimate complimentary player in grant hill (the real person who fukked his career up) as the other issue was him and vince played the same position (sure mcgrady could play the 3, but his game was clearly that of a 2)

grant's all around game was supposed to mesh with mcgrady's game... Mcgrady benefitted by showing how good his all around game was because of not having grant, the scoring was going to come regardless

Iono, mayne. If it was me that seems like a dream scenario.

Even on a smaller level, me and my 2 family members on the blacktop coming up would roast anybody 3-on-3. We'd been playing together since we were real little and we knew each others' strengths and weaknesses. If I got to play pro with them on my team just by chance, that would be da bomb.

And, I got George Brett Syndrome. I think if I could play on a wack team and be the illest dude in team history by the time I finish, I would do that instead of leaving for greener pastures.

i dont think tmac & vince really grew up together tho.
