I'm surprised at how hbo has basically been putting the whole show up on youtube.

But it seems to be working out well for them. Millions of views each video.

That segment today about thailand being concerned about oliver as a threat to their monarch and his name being on a military memo was crazy.

I feel like this show is already poised to have a bigger impact than Stewart and Colbert by virtue of Oliver having a lot more freedom to go in on these topics. He's also really playing up the viral nature of late night which is smart (posting links and hashtags and all of that). I really hope HBO expands it quickly to at least be an hour long show because so far it's must see tv for me.

Out of the Daily Show, Colbert, and Last Week Tonight, John Oliver has the best show at the moment. The other guys though I still give them props because they have to go out and do it every night. Not saying that John Oliver can't, he's proven that he can. Regardless of the reasons though. His show is killin it right now.

He went off on these payday loan sharks. I didn't even know this was going on, but:salute:to John for making it the main topic this week.

:damn:The circle of death.
All those politicians in their pocket :wow:

Dude owning payday loan shops arguing against a bill about payday loans :wow:

The chick who stood up to them being bought off :wow:

Capitalism at its finest.

And for real their was a time when i was younger that i got caught up with payday loans. Being 18 you know stupidily taking out money to get turnt up. Then slowly taking bigger amounts then eventually relying on them to survive. Then one day i sat down and looked at everything and realized they had been lending me illegal amounts. Where i live they can only legally lend you i think it was 50% of your cheque or around there. These scumbags were lending me 80% of my cheque. :wow:

Pay day loans, just one manifestation of 'Poor people tax'

Glad/entertained to see them get a public shaming, but ain't shyt gonna change SMH. That's the most disheartening thing about watching these liberal comedic exposés.

Shows great.

He killed it when he filled on for John Stewart last summer. Glad he was given the opportunity.

I love the show but I don't believe that John Oliver has the comedic timing of either Stewart or Colbert nor do I think he's AS likeable. Feel like he's always rushing everything and doesn't give the jokes room to breath.

But he's okay. And the show is tremendous. They REALLY go in on these fukkin scumbags.
