Exactly? Wait what is going on? Why are they ending boxing on HBO? Is boxing really dying?:picard:

Nah I think there’s actually been a resurgence over the past 3 years.

HBO is out boxing due to a couple things. With GGG/Canelo both at the end of their contracts and not having a cash cow/ PPV Star waiting in the Wings ; coupled with Showtime ESPN and DAZN making some aggressive as soon moves, they realized they weren’t the premier Boxing network anymore.

The writing has been on the wall for a while now, it was painfully obvious Boxing wasn’t a top priority for them and not sure about the financial aspect of it but it surely wasn’t making them enough of a profit to continue. I think one day they may be involved in boxing again.. but even though for the past decade plus Some say they hurt Boxing more than helped it, you can’t ignore the rich tradition and legacy they built to put boxing on not only a national but a global forefront :wow:

the real hiphop.
Lampley was a pain in the ass with his bias but the man knows how to announce with a very theatrical touch. Whenever the two fighters would go face to face in the middle of the ring right before the bell he'd translate the intensity, energy and importance of the moment in a way I don't know anyone else can. He was a crying ass fakkit every now and then but I will miss him tbh.

I'm not worried about Roy, some network will pick him up cause he obviously brings a lot of knowledge to the broadcast.

DAZN needs to sign Roy and Tarver....get rid of Sugar Ray
ESPN will likely grab those 2 to keep trying to build up their + base.

edit: Just started and already with Naseem Hamed on the carpet :wow:

edit 2: goddamn this is incredible. RJJ started 23 years ago and cried :wow:

They should have never crossed Mayweather/Haymon. That signed their death warrant. But boxing's in a great place now

Looks like Roy may do some commentary with his new promotional deal with UFC Fight Pass.
