I've been intrigued about the show since before the debut, and I must say, it's one of my new top favs!
It's definitely got an Entourage type of feel to it, and this is coming from someone who never watched that show. It perfectly blends that line of realistic probably that it makes you want to tune in every week.
It's basically a more comedic version of the classic show Playmakers that ESPN used to run before the NFL caught feelings (which is weird, because this show is that turned up to a different level. )
It's good that guys like Mendenhall are putting in on the scripts and plot, which again keeps that realistic edge (probably because some of this shyt actually happened for real, lol)
I felt The Rock was a bit bland early on, but as each episode progresses, he is definitely stepping into a good comfort zone as Spencer.
Joe might actually be my favorite character due to how well he can blend around almost any atmosphere with just about anyone of any background (as long as he don't say nikka
)
After Joe, my favorite character would be Ricky, due to how he is well aware of his flaws, such as his temper and his fidelity issues. And I don't care what anyone says, John David sounds JUST LIKE his damn Daddy. He's definitely making pops proud with his skills here.
As much of a cocksucker and a leech I think Reggie is, it shows just how well his actor is playing him. He's like a black Joffrey.
Speaking of characters I want to sleep, Charles is being a fukking idiot. When you got a woman that supports you, stands by you no matter what, doesn't leave you when your career is over like any gold digging slut would, and is so happy that you found a new job, even if it's a fukking dealership... why the fukk would you wanna mess that up?! You know how many dudes would kill to wife up a woman like that? Tread carefully, big dude.
And I want to like Vernon, but he seems so fukking dumb, or at least too damn gullible, as evidenced by him keeping Reggie's ass. He better wake the hell up soon, too. The fukk you look like, turning down $40 million guaranteed?
The other actors and actresses do their jobs well (shout out to Troy Garrity, aka Isaac from Barbershop! ),and for 3p minutes, it ties up those week's storylines well within that time frame.
So glad this is getting renewed for season 2. The Great One has struck gold yet again, making this wrestling fan so very proud and happy for him.
Now it's time for me to catch up with this damn thread! Lol
