HBO also passed on Chappelle show
HBO probably would've found a way to get Vice Principal Carmen naked, and while I'd be there for it, it wouldn't contribute anything to the plot.
Think AMC did a great job all in all. The lack of swearing made scenes more impactful when the characters actually did swear. The cinematography is still some of the best we've seen yet.

This actually may have been for the best. AMC restrictions forced the Vince to he more creative imo.

It makes sense given the pace of some scenes. Gilligan and co. loved to take their time, but that's part of what I love about BB and Better Call Saul.
HBO wasnt the only one that passed on Breaking Bad either iirc....
HBO as some other pass on a lot of stuff, its part of the business.
this is what people dont understand. also its about how many "eyes" you have and competition on network. these shows may not have been as successful just because they wouldve been on HBO. more people have AMC than HBO.

Everybody passes on everything.
I've never heard of a story about a show or a movie where the 1st place they took it to picked it up.
Creators gotta luck up on the right exec, at the right time, working at the right place.
