i wanted to go to Action Park badly when i was a kid, but i was scared at the same time. i did end up going to Mountain Creek in like 2003...amazing.

:aicmon: @ the lifeguard dude taking himself a lil too seriously, talking about some of the secrets that happened back then in the parties never being revealed. dude even filmed his interview in front of his jet ski and a car with a license plate that read "LIFEGRD" or some shyt.

Slightly off-topic, but if your a tri-state old head I'm sure we all remember the Action Park commercials. :flabbynsick:

Anyone else remember the Westchester County Fair ones!?! Rides and attractions! Non-stop action! Every county every year at the Westchester country fair!:mjgrin:

And those bootleg Land of Make Believe commercials. :mjlol:

I legit thought this was a mockumentary. What is this fukkery lmao

this was pretty good, did anyone on here from NY or NJ go as a kid ?

I thought this was fake. Never heard of this place and I’m from the area.

There was a few in the doc, ppl on this site said they went there

Plus, you know niccas can't swim, j/k

It's as real as the 30 year old Alpine Slide scar that's still slightly visible on my knee.
In the Summer I used to go to the Eastern Queens YMCA day camp, and the majority of kids were black. We used to go on trips to Action Park or Great Adventure from there if I remember correctly. But I also went went there with visiting relatives at least twice.

:russ:. Man somebody post them shyts from youtube
OK - Raceway Park

Edit:

:ohhh:Vague memories of this story. I remember some place that my parents took me to as a child where there were life size books and a kiddie train that would take you on a “storybook adventure” through a forest, I think it was in PA though but this is not that
:huhldup:

This looks a lot more fukkery filled than the McMillions documentary
:deadmanny::deadrose:
Dude put up an Amusement Park and was like “fuk them kids” with no concept of physics or engineering, staffed by teenagers. Recipe for disaster. I’m starting to think the entire 80s decade was testing the boundaries of safety and mental stability of kids. From cartoons to toys, movies etc.

I remember seeing the commercials as a kid and always thinking it was the raddest amusement park of all time. :gladbron:

My mother had a friend who worked in a hospital near there (Alpine NJ, I think) and I remember her telling me about all these horror stories of people getting injured, probably cause I kept begging my parents to go :feedme:

One story in particular that stands out all these years later is a dude who had to have a skin graft to replace ALL the skin on his back after riding one of their poorly maintained waterslides :damn:
:picard::merchant:
how do you leave out for a fun filled day at the park and come out needing Reconstructive surgery
:dwillhuh:
that slide must have been not watered down and dry as hell - shhhessh. That’s some National Lampoons level of not giving af

I'm sure the story must have been about the Alpine Slide, which was not a water slide. The track looks like concrete, but I learned first hand after falling onto the track myself that it is not actually concrete.

Don't know if this was filmed at Action Park, but here's an Alpine Slide somewhere:
