They didnt "hand it over" to Zaslav. They didnt have a choice. Discovery bought WB, not the other way around. :manny:

They gave that cac the keys to the kingdom and he aint qualified

The whole merger was a fukking flop and waste of time tbh. Especially when the AT&T Time Warner merger was a fukking flop

What happened to antitrust laws :jbhmm: Bill dealt with that so hopefully you won't have to go through that I guess:hubie:

But this service isnt just Warner Brother/HBO stuff. It includes stuff like all the reality stuff from Discovery, it makes no sense to keep HBO in the title.
Even before this Discovery merger, by your logic it shouldve been called Warner Brother+ or something. Not HBO max, because it wasnt just HBO stuff on there. In house "Max" was treated as a separate entity than HBO.
That's fine. No skin off my back. Its just surprising when you had "HBO" in the same breath as Disney, Netflix, etc. at top of the streaming world and now its been relegated to being dependent and associated with cable and satellite subscriptions all over again when you had pushed it towards the top with the rest of the top dogs. I get that you have Discovery, Max, Warner Bros, and other content but I'd personally ride that HBO brand as the face of it all for my streaming service.

Only time will tell. If Zaslav is willing to dive into the ips and make shows branching off of them, it may work. idk how they havent done a HP show before Zaslav/Discovery stepped in. Also the old WB regime were dumb as hell. They greenlit shyt that they knew was gonna bomb, just to please directors and shyt(Eastwood film). Terrible way to run a business.
I also saw stuff like Zaslav may be maneuvering to sell HBO/WB in 2ish years too though :manny:

I get HBO Max through my AT&T account, does this change anything?
You’ll likely be downgraded. In 6 months you’ll lose access to 4K and I believe only be able to stream in 2 devices at once with 30 offline downloads a month. You also will only have 5.1 sound without Dolby Atmos.

There is a $20 tier that you have to pay more for ala Netflix if you want 4 streams, 4K, and Dolby Atmos with 100 offline downloads a month.

My prepaid yearly subscription for HBO Max expires in Sept, not sure how these changes will effect it.

Not paying extra for 4K though :hubie:
