I was just talking about this fight last week. Lewis is still training as well. I think he just can't be at ringside but he is still allowed to train guys.

He can never corner in the US again and he served a couple of years in prison for it (so did Resto)
If people still want to train with him What can you do?


What's crazy is that I don't think Panama has ever admitted to this shyt.

Resto at least admitted that he was cheating and he knew it. Although, I was shocked that his family thought he was innocent until he told them the truth. As if a boxer can fight with half the padding in their gloves missing and not realize it

I wish they had done more of this series. Either that or made the episodes longer and showed the full fights after. Still shocked that there is no channel that consistently shows old boxing. Loved when ESPN Classic had that Greatest Fighters series or whatever and showed a bunch of a certain fighters fights.

i had no idea panama had trained zab for the cotto fight. panama also had sultan ibragimov, sultan left him right after he won the title. a scumbag he might be but he's still a helluva trainer, fighters still come to him and train with him down in miami.

Yeah, they did a documentary on the Luis Resto/Billy Collins fight and you could see that Panama is doing very well for himself even though he's not allowed to corner anybody ever again.

The issue with Panama is that he's still hoping to get licensed to corner fighters. So, even 30 years after the ban, he's still unwilling to admit to any wrong doing. Just a completely delusional person

They should bring back Legendary Nights as a regular series. Their have been enough great fights in boxing where they could do this for quite a while and hold true fan's interest.
