Melanasian is just a word that clearly means black people friend based on the way these friends look. Looking at friends through a modern context as they look now hopefully takes into account the way friends of different ethnic groups have mixed, like in the case of hawaii, the japanese.
I think expressing all details is better and shows friends have no agenda when expressing facts. Its obvious native hawaiians have african ancestry

Mix with the natives, show favor to the mixed race babies, provide incentives and rewards for "whitening" the gene pool, make dark skin synonymous with negativity, poverty, crime and ignorance. That's the formula they used for the last few hundred years and thats why most of the rich people in those lands are light skinned but the poorer people are dark skinned.
