It's a good rule of thumb, but being the same species means
much more than simply the ability to procreate. If that was the case, then two fakets would be considered different species.
All jokes aside, Look at the Wholphin, for example. Two different genus( killer whale/dolphin) frolicking in the ocean and you get offspring. There are many creatures in our world like this. For us to consider something to be the same species of another, you need way more commonalities than just the ability to plop out retarded offspring. Human/Neanderthal offspring is mad over emphasized, it was extremely rare. Infertility all day.
The modern human and neanderthals are NOT the same species. Our brains are wired differently, we evolved in different locations, are behaviors are different, are skeletons are different.. fukk.. we
dont even share any mitochondrial DNA. More importantly, the vast majority of neanderthals never even came into contact with us. They finessed themselves into heaven before we even said "what's good."
There's so many differences between us and them.
TL:DR: Just look at them nikkas.
Scientists consider them a separate species from homo sapiens.
