Having NBA and NHL playoff games on cable is terrible.

The thread title speaks for itself.

Playoff games on cable channels is bad. It limits how many people you reach and pushes people to spend money for costly television channel packages.
I cut cable years ago and have found ways to watch the games, anyway. But it remains a pain in the ass nonetheless.

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday evening, ladies and gentlemen.

Disney has put NBA Conference Finals games on ABC for the first time since 2009 this week! :damn:

The entire NHL postseason is on either ESPN or TNT after having games on NBC for the last 15 seasons. No ABC games till the Stanley Cup Finals. Gary Bettman got that bag and didn't care :whew:

My streams are smooth 85% of the time. There's the occasional buffering which over the course of a game can add a few minutes delay. However since many events are often shown on broadcast tv, I can just use my TV's antenna to capture the channels in HD over the air. It's a more enjoyable and stable viewing experience.

If the NBA on NBC was still a thing maybe this would be a valid argument... but We should thank God all the NBA playoff games are not on ABC. Yuck

But I remember the days when you had playoff games playing simultaneously on TNT & TBS, and I didn't have a problem with it back then either.
But if in 2022 you can't find a way to stream a game without cable you lost

NHL's having their highest ratings in ages. They gotta get the game and some players in the mainstream conversation before going full blast on ABC.

I got cable back, all these streaming services you end up paying more than just getting cable. Someone predicted that years ago and I didn't listen but they were right...

Having all the playoffs on regular TV would be oversaturation, it's cool how it is. Save the marquee series for broadcast...
