Have you matured past the ego-lifting phase as a lifter?

I have. I'm on some shaolin monk shyt.

Maybe it's because I lift at home. :manny: idk but I wanna do this shyt for a long time and ego-lifting don't mix with longevity.

Never cared about that shyt. I just wanna look good.

How I look deadlifting 700 pounds when the only thing that can see me is the reflection of my tv screen :rudy:

I don't ego lift but I'm still working on my strength goals.

1 rep maxes make me tired af. That's the main reason I don't ego lift. Tiredness and injuries.

Never been in to that. Dude's always ask me 'how do you grow off those tiny-ass weights?'. I just say technique and intensity is my focus. I wanna feel that muscle burn, I don't care for putting my back out or doing half-assed reps with weights I can't control.
Burn doesn't equal growth.

i'm a 6'1 170 lb dude. i realistically cant even get egotistical over anything i do because i see plenty of dudes putting up double the weight i do..and that keeps me humble. i do feel a sense of confidence though looking at what i was doing and what i'm doing now. but i dont wanna get carried away with that , because thats how skinny dudes like me get injured lol

Time-under-tension stimulates muscle growth. That's basics. Personally I didn't notice true gains untill I started hitting the 20+ rep range.
Eh, I focus on progressive overload.Which often doesn't leave me sore or with a massive burn.Working sets rarely get higher than 85/90% of my max. strength.

Yup. I used to think I was invincible throwing around weights. But I had a scare with my lower back doing leg press one day. Felt a sharp pain like someone stabbed me in the lower back, but luckily it went away after a week.

Then had another close call with my shoulder after doing Side Lat Raises. I felt a click in my shoulder everytime I did a rep, and my entire arm felt dead later that day. Turned out to be nothing serious, but that was enough to make me realize I need to stop fukkin around.

Now I play it smart, not trying to get a serious injury and be on that muscle atrophy time :flabbynsick:
