Welp. Mario Pender is injured again. Collapsed lung. This dude has been the biggest hype disappointment in awhile.

I'm rooting for Pender. Unfortunately, it seems like his body just can't stand up to the rigors of college football. Sad, really. With this bye week, I assume Jacques getting all these reps. Normally Jimbo don't play a RB until he can pick up all the blocking/blitz packages. Hopefully the youngin ready to roll.

how do you end up with a collapsed lung?
Fisher said it was a freak injury where he basically bumped into a lineman. Finished practice and complained of difficulty breathing. Took to the hospital and he had a collapsed lung.

We heard all about Patrick and Campbell during the spring and during camp, but they haven't seen the field much. Why? Is it that the offensive needs more reps for the current starters or are Patrick and Campbell just not ready to be on the field yet?

Patrick is soft right now. Campbell was going to get a lot of playing time against BC, but had a horrible week of practice and dropped too many balls for Jimbo to trust him.

So hard to believe Patrick is soft. Jimbo needs to stop bullshyttin and put him in. You can see that Pender aint ever going to get on the field and when he does, it's nothing special. Patrick maybe a game player, not a practice player.

Why is it hard to believe that he plays soft?

I can sorta believe it. Even though he is big, non of his high school highlight films showed him being a bruiser. The hardest thing to break most RB's from his always wanting to bounce everything to the outside and out "athlete" the other team like they did in high school. I'm sure with his size, Jimbo wants him to get accustomed to working the 1 and 2 consistently, which is probably taking awhile for him to used to.

Plus his HS competition wasn't the regular Florida competition, this was private/prep school kids. It's easy to bully those players half your size. What worked in HS don't necessarily mean it will work in college.

Because his big ass didn't look soft in the spring game
Probably not against 3rd stringers, takes more than to be able to truck stick walk-on players.
But Jimbo stated in camp that he needed to run tougher, and be tougher(take multiple carries without taking yourself out the game)
