I believe he still has it, but unless Denzel's name is involved, he won't get any monetary backing. Especially after Oldboy flopped as bad as it did.....

I refuse to watch Oldboy remake cause I'm a huge fan of Korean film Oldboy and we all know Korean's Oldboy shytty on Oldboy remake, it's waterd down.

I would watch if it's on tv....won't pay rent or something like that but only on tv.

Red Hook Summer is a damn but at the ending caught my attention. The Priest is the only one can acting but rest of cast just can't acting for shyt.

Miracle at St. Anna was okay, should have done better but something is missing.

Inside Man was the last Spike good film.

Yes, I do agree with you he's better off documentaries and stand up. His with Mike Tyson was good and his with Kobe was

You could give Spike a Michael Bay Transformers budget and it wouldn't help. Spike just has lost it. It happens sometimes to great directors...look at John Carpenter, dude can't make a decent movie to save his life anymore.

yep...but I'll give him a few more tries because like I said, he's still pretty young for a director and I haven't liked any of his films since 25th Hour...I was so excited for Miracle at St. Anna, but that shyt was ridiculously bad thanks to a muddled and wandering script...but, he has always come through on the Katrina documentaries recently, so that's a plus...that basketball doc though was

Well if you shyt on a product before you've even tried it, it never had a chance to be any good in your eyes. That's stupid.

Not all remakes are bad. From what I hear he did the movie justice but fanboys rejected the movie before even a trailer dropped. Add on to the fact that media and white people just don't like Spike Lee and he's fighting an even tougher uphill battle in attempting to translate the most beloved Korean movie since (shyt I don't know, Silmido?) in a remake. Just saying the word "remake" makes people cringe and scoff regardless of whether or not the product is any good. In hindsight this was DRT as soon as the project was conceived.
