Breh, in the first two decades of this century, « Red Sox Nation » was the biggest bandwagon in baseball and was one of the biggest bandwagons in sports. At its peak, back in the mid-late 2000s/early 2010s, you saw Pink hat Beckies and obnoxious cac bros with Red Sox fitted hats everywhere.
Not on the west coast. Nobody gave a f*ck about the Red Sox even in their heyday. They were even viewed as a racist ball club for a long time. My pops who grew up in Mississippi told me the Dodgers were a strong brand back in the day in the south because of Jackie Robinson alone. Plus it's long time NY ties to Brooklyn. The Dodgers have always been a strong national brand from coast to coast for decades.

Interestingly, I've been seeing a lot of Tigers stuff over the last few weeks/months. I get it, though: classic team, had an exciting stretch run to make the playoffs, and that logo's always cold.

As for the ?....yeah, possibly. I wouldn't be surprised. I feel like I at least know of most of that roster. Some of these guys on the Yankees I'd literally never heard of or was unaware were on the team, like back in the day when they had dudes like Refsnyder, Mason Williams, Torreyes (sp?) and 'em.

And shallow, but LA's logo/uni is one of the GOATs in any sport. I swear that home uni pops more than other teams', especially on a sunny day.

I hardly see anyone here in DC wear Dodgers gear and it's a transient city. I'll see Cubs gear more than Dodgers. There's a whole bunch of Red Sox and Yankees hat being worn. And a whole lot of Cowboys gear :skip:

Boston definitely has a lot of fairweather fans, but I'd say the Red Sox are a top three team nationally at worst, and that's only if someone thinks the Cubs are more national.

My Pops Forever RIP

the only time we'd ever know the Dodgers' fans were around was when they played the Mets (but here, Giants fans rolled deep too for the same reasons. Someone's grandpa was still around to see Roy Campanella or Willie Mays). There was a year and I blank out on when, but the Yankees played the Dodgers at the Stadium and the Dodgers were kicking our ass and you saw the whole LF was Dodgers fans with a big ass Dodger flag drowning out the Bleacher Creatures. That's when it got serious, it was probably within the last 6 years. Those Frank McCourt years did the Dodgers a major disservice for a time.
