nope. You just record deoppong. I’m speaking on a Qb that was int prone before he got there. Taking over an 0-16 team before he got there. Getting robbed in the playoffs. Recovering from Matt Millen being their GM.

All you have is “tHeY wEre 9-7.”

Nah niqqa...its more than just record naming.

you and @Listen have all of that tired smoke for making Caldwell seem ordinary and nothing for the less than stellar that replaced him. :mjpls:
Breh, why do you keep trying to make me say Caldwell was great lol. All I’m saying is I get why they went after Quinn and Patricia. Caldwell is not a great head coach, just like the majority of head coaches lmao.

It Doesn’t mean he didn’t coach better than previous Detroit coaches either.

I’m not making you say anything....you simply choose to overlook all he overcame to come to the conclusion that he was mediocre. You are stuck on 9-7 instead of what he did to get even there.

What 0-16 team did he take over? That was Jim Schwartz. Caldwell took over an 4-12 team, that’s nothing special, new coaches get bad teams all the time.

Patricia stinks... that doesn’t mean Caldwell was the answer

This entire thread is that the lions need to be ok with being 9-7 everyear because they are the lions and shouldn’t aspire to be any better.

My bad. He took over a 7-9 team and took them to 11-5 where they got jerked in the playoffs. They went 7-9 the following year and went to the playoffs the year after with a 9-7 record and repeated it.

You outright overlook how the Lions and Stafford performed better with Caldwell. Even in the LONE losing season he had, Stafford became the first quarterback in NFL history to complete 60 percent or more of his passes in all 16 games.

They even managed to adjust to losing their all world receiver out of the blue.

You keep repeating 9-7 as if one losing season warranted a firing. smh

So I was wrong he took over an even BETTER team than I thought,7-9 and averaged out 2 more wins over the course of his tenure. They performed better but were still just ok.

I’ll ask again, should certain franchises be ok with just going mediocre to above average or should they aspire for something better? Also where do you rank Caldwell as a HC?

You continue to find ways to stay stuck on record.

what is it about my nuanced points that makes you and @Listen continue avoiding?
NOTHING mediocre about losing your franchise player suddenly w/o warning or prep for then managing to end above .500

NOTHING mediocre about taking a turnover prone qb and elevating his play. With as many FAILED “QB whisperer” coaches we’ve seen advertised in this league, some currently employed, you @Listen are calling what he did with Pad Stafford “mediocre.”

So caught up on variations of 9-7 and record watching instead of seeing what took place overcoming both dysfunctional team history and real time challenges he overcame as coach.

y’all refuse. It’s boring as fukk and one of the many reasons why the harsher lens blacks experience continue to go unabated. Many of you carry the water for it.
