Has There Ever Been An Undefeated Streak Gimmick That Didn't Get A Wrestler Over?

and for those asking about Yoko that nikka was over as fukk as a heel. people hated that dude and mr fuji. they always came with some fukkery. it was great to see him lose. never realized how good Yoko was until i got older.

Yeah, I was like 11 or 12 when all that happened - height of my fandom probably. I *hated* Yoko.. he was properly over; it helped having Mr Fuji with him... the man was a born heat magnet.

The only reason fans didn't turn their back on Hogan for muscling in on Bret's title shot at WM9 had to be because Yoko was so hated.

Tatanka was over..those kids loved him and he had a doll like Taker, Bret, Razor, and Hogan.

Yeah, Tatanka was crazy over... kids were doing those Tomahawk chops everywhere.

Weirdly though, his undefeated streak seemed more of an incidental thing that with most others - he probably would've been over without it. I didn't remember him vividly as undefeated (even though he was for like TWO YEARS?!) in the same way as I did Mr Perfect, Goldberg or Yoko.

Mr Perfect is the archetype of this shyt, let's be real.

The Tatanka streak was brought alot..the King Of The Ring 93 original tournament was so big in the beginning. Tatanka vs The Narcissist? Both undefeated? It was red hot.

Guess I was just too young for it to properly stick with me. I was a big Tatanka fan, but I always forget he was undefeated until I start talking about him. Most of the others I can think of it's the first thing I remember. The first thing I think of when someone says Tatanka is The Brain line-stepping on the commentary with "Hey-how-are-ya, Hey-how-are-ya" and his war cry.

Not saying it wasn't a big deal at all, just that I think Tatanka would've been over with the kids without his streak. Goldberg and Ryback would never have been.... their streaks were their mystique.

Tatanka? I feel like he was over as a face but historians go back and act like he was never over.

But I feel like that undefeated streak was made to be a big deal during those almost 2 years he was on it and when Borga pinned him it was good heat for him to feud with Luger.
tatanka was always :snoop:

Undefeated streaks haven't really intrigued me since Brock's ended. That was the last time I was like "Who is going to beat this guy. :ohhh:" It seems like they enjoy to throw it out there every other year (Rusev being the recent example) but nowadays it's just :yeshrug:

They probably regret even starting some of those undefeated streaks. I don't think anybody was intrigued with Crimson's streak, and TNA probably realized that after a month or so.

At that point it's like ... okay, do we just stop mentioning it, pretend it never existed and just let him lose? Or do we keep trying to make people give a fukk?
