Cleanly? In singles? I mean even Joe lost triple threat matches and tag matches IIRC and so did Ryback, Goldberg may be the only guy I remember who for sure was wholly undefeated.

Quit getting bytchy, I know he's been pinned.
But cleanly in a singles, no it hasn't happened. I guess you can say Ryback and Joe were never pinned before their losses but of course they lost matches. Goldberg is probably the only "true" undefeated streak of the bunch. But getting back to your original point no, it's honestly very rare for it to not work unless it's completely transparent and forced (kinda like right now 
)
