Yeah there hasn't been many good hood movies since the 90s, and no decent gangster movies like Scarface or mafia flicks either.
It kinda sucks because those are my favorite genres with sci-fi and comedy. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way, like why can't they make the 2014 version of Menace 2 Society? Something in that vein would be popular.

Not to me was. It captured the real life gritty lifestyle of Brooklyn hoods very well. IMO it was a decent hood film.movie was garbo

film set in harlem and aint had shyt to do with the mafia, other than the fact that he rose above them. of course its a hood film.
Paid in Full isn't just a hood film.
It's historical drama.
