Has the constant Racism in wrestling made you less interested or not?

Absolutely. It’s become so noticeably inexplicable it’s hard to ignore. Perfect example was that Royal Rumble Rollins won. Every single African American talent in that match was either made to
look foolish or steamrolled with the quickness. The New Day looked like ineffective clowns, No Way Jose got knocked out during a conga line and never even made it to the ring, Shelton and Lashley were probably in the ring less than 5 minutes combined. It was completely abhorrent. Kofi later winning the WWE title only to lose it in like 10 seconds turned me off the product completely and now I just check it periodically to discuss it with you guys. Were it not for this board and a couple of my real life friends I’d probably be off it completely

Yeah it draws me back a little. I try to keep into it but it's still there. It might not be as obvious as it was in the past but look at the lack of black wrestlers in general. And then look at the black wrestlers that there are and the mindsets a few of them have...

You gotta be a certain type of black folk to get in the wrestling biz otherwise they push you out. If you have a dominant personality then will find a way to send you packing and i think thats something still happening today. AEW has a handful of black wrestlers and they are a trans woman, a gay dude, a video game nerd, and a bunch of skinny party type dudes. they make sure to fill the roster with guys like that who arent actually a threat to anything but you cant truly say there isnt diversity.

WWE actually has guys like Lashley, Big E, Montez who are championship caliber but waste time with them either dancing or just taking L's to pointless people. And not to mention all the black on black feuds for nothing and black team-ups that make no sense like Xavier Woods/R-Truth.

It might not be as bad as it was but we're still being treated as less than and any time we get a bone thrown our way its an opportune time..Like we might get a Big E run just because Black Lives Matter all of a sudden up in Stamford.

I think Kofi's reign in WWE sealed it with me in terms of how they view Black wrestlers. AEW will always be suspicious as well, as right now, even before the pandemic, it's been the Elite vs. The Inner Circle; which says alot.

It's not even the individual racism it's the booking that bothers me the most. I've mentioned I feel like I'm watching a white power fantasy when looking at any wrestling promotions main event scene or champions when comparing to actual combat sports and their histories of black champions, hall of famers, and black folk in various positions and something like MMA is still written off as crazy white boy shyt by a lot people I know.

There also seems to be a higher bar that must be cleared for black talents like there are several who have charisma and ability who WWE should be looking to groom as top men and women but they're booked to be good but not good enough and they're also written off as 'green' and 'not ready' on a fukking developmental show and worst of all these unexplained flaws are made by taste makers within the IWC which trickle down to their followers.

A little bit but I tune in still...

I don’t watch WWE product, but I do watch AEW and Impact. Kinda noticed lately that ALL that black wrestlers in AEW get jobbed out, even potential breakout stars like Scorpio Sky and Private Party get a half a push then stalled out. Impact isnt any better, they got Moose running around claiming the old TNA title...like why is he not in the ACTUAL title picture?!?! :what: Either way I still watch, I like wrestling as entertainment but I don’t like the bs “politics”... shoot maybe some things will change now that everyone loves BLM....:mjpls:

There's so many things they could do with this. I just hope they've been using the downtime since March to strategize how to really get shyt popping when outside opens up again.

I said it in another thread, but WSG and Pen and Pixel collaborating on the merch would be :banderas:

I think there's a changing of the guard going on. Maybe I'm wrong but you can see how many outspoken performers there are now like Titus, Naomi, New Day, Sasha, Bianca, Street Profits, Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan..etc.

They all get on and use their social media platforms for good and they don't seem concerned about any backlash.

Vince and Kevin Dunn are on their last leg, I'm not sure what happens when they are gone, hopefully it will improve.

Triple H.

The guy in the WM 19 title match with Booker who once wore Blackface and said they should make ACH's racist ass shirt 'more teethy'. :hubie:

I'm not impressed with NXT. NXT is just ROH with a bigger budget.

Sure the wrestling is good, but where are the gimmicks. There are some wrestlers with gimmicks but the majority of them just have bland regular names.

If he takes over after Vince the company is doomed. Casual fans are not going to be into watching bland wrestlers with no gimmicks. All they are going to do is see that and just watch MMA/UFC or some other form of entertainment.

Also the WWE's obsession with making the company bigger than the wrestlers (or selling the "brand") is why they are struggling to create a star.

the traveling the crazy boss, the ribbing, the racist shyt, lack of insurance etc. But yeah the cheers of smelly racist neckbeards make it all worth it:troll:
If you're a female wrestler you even get the privilege to hug em in photo ops:mjlol:
Just keep telling yourself while you're overdosing on painkillers and booze it was all worth it while staring at that poster of yaself on an event you didn't even headline:wow:
You ain't even fighting for real and are at the mercy of some crusty ass redneck for a spot :wow:

The wrestling industry is so backwards with how these companies treat their employees/wrestlers. Any other sport they would have face a lot of lawsuits that could potentially put their company out of business.

The whole industry in general needs an overhaul. From creative/booking all the way down.

Like I mentioned before there are too many out of touch and :mjpls: cacs controlling the industry behind the scenes. They are holding the industry back and further pushing the mainstream audience away from it.

Until that changes wrestling is going to continue to only be a niche industry attracting neckbeards and :scust: members of society.

You know
Haven’t been watching consistently since 2002. But seeing a lot of the people I grew up watching in the 90s being racist hicks have me feeling differently about it.Cant even rewatch old clips
